Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Only two previous owners. Nice example of unmolested Willys survivor. One paint job since new. Garaged most of it’s life. Frame horns excellent. Less than 1000 miles on new engine. Nearly $5000 recently spent on brakes, steering, transmission and axle seals, and other wear items. Have receipts. A reliable drive anywhere trouble free Willys. ”

“I have for sale this little CJ2A Runs and moves, is a bit rough but complete, has had an F-head engine transplanted in in place of the original L-head, has 16in. wheels, Sears Allstate locking hubs. 4wheel drive all works good, etc. Have title. ”

“Yes it is rough but it is complete and has a lot of great parts. comes with a “go devil” flat head 4 and 3 speed transmission. engine was running in the last year. new gas tank and other new parts. fenders, hood and grill in good condition. Seat frames and storage box still good. Frame is good was blasted and re-coated. Windshield frame is usable missing one glass but still has rear view mirror and wipers. Make a great restoration project or farm vehicle, or rat rod Cj”

(06/29/2016) “Have a old military CJ2a flat fender Willis Jeep. It’s rough but great for original parts and it’s all there. The axles motor tranny t case wheels hood grill.. maybe a few parts off the motor like a carb and some old hoses but it was a great piece to collect. Sadily I’m getting out of heels and into airplanes so I’m selling my jeep stuff. Jeep tub and frame is rusted”

UPDATE: Matt spotted a here-to-for unseen set of hubs. They are listed as #7.
Most know that Arthur Warn’s jeep-related business began with his introduction of the summer hubs, designed to allow the front axles to spin freely. They came packaged in red, green, or blue boxes. As you can see in this ad, Warn advertised them as “hub caps”, but their use during summers led people to call them “summer hubs”. He also credited them with all kinds of benefits.
Ad was posted to the CJ-2A page. I don’t have a date for it.
But, few know that there were two different types of Warn summer hubs. In addition, there were also at least three different other summer hubs produced.
