Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. For some reason the Willys Export company advertised the Cargo & Personnel Carrier in a German Magazine. Seller lists this as a 1950 magazine. Given the early grille, this may well be the case. This is really an interesting piece.

“Original California 1946 Willys CJ2A jeep, has fresh rebuilt engine and new gas tank in the last 3 months. Very complete and not hacked up. All lights,gauges,horn,heater,4 wheel drive and Hi/Lo range work. Has complete top with doors. Nice stock Willys.”
Has a fiberglass body.

Runs and drives great.
It doesn’t have a lot of top speed because of the low gear ratio.
These jeeps were geared very low for the military. Top speed is probably about 50 mph.
I owned one several years ago just like it. To get more MPH, I put bigger, taller tires on it, to compensate for the low gear ratio. Trust me, it has ample power to turn bigger tires. Lots of power for a 4 cylinder.
