This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Rare Willys sedan delivery 4×4 265CI V8 Chevy engine, Muncie 4 Speed transmission, Dana 18 transfer case, AMC 30 front axle, AMC 20 rear axle, painless wiring harness, tilt column, power steering, brand new Mickey Thompson 8 holes wheels 6 lug, brand new national XT Commando tires, new aluminum radiator, new shocks, Nice ride just needs paint and minor finishing or ready to go now as is runs and drives head turner.”

“Have a 51 willys cj3a with a cj2a body for sale body is in decent shape with minimal rust. There is some bondo and body damage in the sides. Runs great, brakes need new wheel cylinders stops but not well (about $40 total) drive train is in excellent shape does not come with tow bar. All of the data plates are missing but replacment are esily available”

“I have a 1940’s Willys (Willyz) Jeep for sale. Some people believe I have to many toys so selling one. It’s a mid-1940’s jeep, motor runs well, needs new clutch, have orig data plates, no title but can provide BOS. Asking $1950 OBO. Not sure what questions you may have but please email if you do.”

The 1947 Craftsman Annual Project Magazine contains forty-four wide ranging projects for the builder who was to try constructing everyone. Of course, there’s a battery toy jeep project among the items (directions shown below), but also included in the magazine are plans for building from scratch a welder, a battery-less telephone, a Jolly Roger boat, a hand vise, a rocket, a farm tractor (from car parts), and much more.
