This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. There were some jeeps at SEMA 2023 this year, but one of the most interesting was a rebuilt FC-170 by Roy. The excerpt starts at 2;27. (I can’t tell what the narrator is saying, because my sound isn’t working tonight for some reason).
This has a bumper and rear tire carrier update, but appear mostly stock.

“1956? Jeep Willys, inline 4 cylinder. The Jeep will not crank but does not appear to be locked up in any way. The wheels turn, the gears shift, and the steering wheel turns. The engine does not appear to be locked up but that cannot be verified. Most all of the parts of the vehicle appear to be there but many parts are loose. The ignition is not wired up. No keys. The battery is 1-2 years old. A 1-2 year old wiring harness will be provided but is not installed. The tires hold air but not sure for how long. This needs to be hauled away on a trailer. It is sold as-is. There is no title. A bill of sale will be written to the buyer in person at our local bank once the funds are deposited into our bank account. This is a restoration project vehicle. It does not run and will take a lot of work to get it road ready. The price is firm, no other offers will be responded to. No trades. I hope this finds a good home with someone who can restore it. It has good bones, it just needs a lot of work to get it running again”
