Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Andrew spotted this blue CJ-3A in the Rain Forest area of the Milwaukee Public Museum and took most of these photos. The staff informed him that it was used by a museum research team in the 1980s. According to the museum’s webpage, the team collected specimens in Costa Rica during 1986. Since the CJ-3A’s license plates are Costa Rican, they may well have used the jeep in Costa Rica and brought it back with them.

Marty checked out this jeep yesterday. He was most curious about the hardtop and got a bunch of photos of it for us. He believes the hardtop was a custom creation, but well done. The curves and drain edge are a nice touch, too. As for the CJ-2A, there’s not much left. The seller believes there is plenty of value, but Marty smartly disagreed.

This is an original WW2 Jeep brought over from Europe in 2010. It was restored sometime in the late 80’s to early 90’s in Belgium. I bought it in Germany from one of my high school teachers in 2005 and over the years it has become part of the family. I have put a lot of time and money into this vehicle and hate to see it go but my life has taken an unexpected turn and the wife says I can’t sell one of the kids so here it is.

“1956 Jeep CJ-6.
This is a refurbished Montana Jeep. The rebuilt motor runs excellent, new brakes, and new radial tires. There are a few small dings and imperfections in the body, but it is in generally good condition with no rust. The seats have been reupholstered with new vinyl and foam. Roll-on liner coats the inside well adding traction and protection. Please call or text with questions.”

“I have a 1950 Willys cj3a flat fender with the 4 cylinder and 3 speed manual transmission. It has the twin stick transfer case and a small lift on it. It’s running on like new 33×12.50r15 Hercules trail digger mts. It runs great and drives good. The tub is in good shape and not all beat up. Has minor rust on the underside of it. “U.S. Postal Jeep, 1976, asking $2,500.00, OBO. Currently being utilized on mail route. New carburetor, springs, smogged August 22, 2015! Tires in good shape, runs good! If you need a second ride for your mail route, this jeep is for you! The people on my route call it, “The Flyin’ Pineapple”!
This vehicle would also be great to use for short jaunts down the hill to town if you are on vacation in a cabin! Many possibilities, plus, one day a collector’s item. Slight paint touch ups will perk this girl right up! (Mail decal on back is magnetic, no damage there from removal.)”
