UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9500.
This is an ex-fire station jeep, which would explain the unusual paint job.
“1952 M38A1. Serial Number 22011, date of manufacture 9/1952. It was an ex-Marine, then Fire Department Jeep. I’ve owned it for about 20 years with the intention of restoring it back to original, it was painted maroon before I bought it. Original military jeep with the 24 volt waterproof electrical system. No rust, only some light surface corrosion in spots. New NDCC tires, wiring harness, batteries, canvas seat covers, spark plug wires, and summer top. Rear seat and external power connector. Many extra parts: 3 voltage regulators, generator to voltage regulator cable, original light switch, 2ea winter doors (not in the best shape, 1 winter side flap, new door bows, old set of plug wires, extra black out light lamp, original gauges (37800 miles on it), extra military style wire connectors and covers, original spring & horse hair seat covers, 4ea NOS ground straps, battery hold down brackets, new parking brake arm and shoes, engine electrical test kit (Sun model WPW-10), new grill welt, extra cuno oil filter gaskets, NOS radio antenna mount, spare ammeter gauge, misc hardware, parts manual and service manual.”

“Early 1946 willys cj2a black plate california car. original shape, rebuilt engine, new clutch, very nice original rust free.”
UPDATE: Price bumped to $11,000
(08/04/2015) “First civilian jeep offered. 1946 that has been upgraded with brakes, wiring harness, clutch, steering and more. Owned for twenty five years, all mechanical and electrical systems reworked.
THIS IS AN UPDATE. After re-evaluating based on condition, I have increased the asking price.Underneath inspection indicated that the rust that was present when I bought it is not materially different; the previous owner treated it with some magic potion that stopped it. The rust underneath can be repaired without replacing the tub. Fenders, bed, and sides excellent shape.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $3900
(03/24/2015) Includes an overdrive.

Runs and drives.
“Runs and drives. Gas tank needs to be cleaned or replaced. Rust on underside.”
It’s a project.
“his is a project jeep. It was a postal military jeep at one time. It is 2 wheel drive. It has the original L-134 Flathead motor that has been rebuilt and has not been started yet. It has the original T-96 transmission which has been rebuilt and converted to a top shifter. I have had all the parts off the motor rebuilt. It has a 12 volt charging system. It still needs few more parts to get it running. It has some brakes and new shocks. It had a metal top at one time but not when I got it. It has no doors. I have a tow bar for it. The radiator has been rebuilt also. It needs all fluids. The engine and transmission are in the jeep. It is a good project jeep to finish. It also has a new clutch and throw out bearing. I have more pictures that I can text if anyone is interested.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
(01/13/2015) It’s a project.
“1946 Willys Jeep CJ-2A restoration project. This Jeep appears to be fairly complete, but it needs a total ground-up restoration. It hasn’t been run since the 80’s. I have been told it was a running vehicle when it was parked, but I have made no effort to test this theory as I’m sure it will need work just to get it to turn over. You should plan to trailer it home. The front fenders and grill are included, they are just not shown in the photos. Jeep has been cleaned up a tad since the pics were taken but still needs more work. Does not appear to have any noticeable rust issues, but it does appear that the front frame horn on the passenger side has been previously repaired. It has been in Arizona since at least 1969 and has a clean Arizona title.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4300.
(08/25/2015) No obvious rust.
“1948 CJ2A runs good, everything works, previous owner had new radiator put in and painted it, good battery, gas tank had leak-repaired, new sending unit in tank and gas gauge, front axle seals replaced, good tires, winch with remote never used it, holds road good for a ole jeep. Just setting in shop don’t drive it anymore.”
