“I do not have the time to finish rebuilding my 46 jeep so I am selling it. This jeep has been completely taken apart for a frame off restoration. The body was shot so I had a new heavy guage body custom bent and cut out. The floor pan is 11 gauge steel and the rest of the body panels are 16 gauge steel. I sandblasted the entire frame inside and out. It has 3 coats of rustoleum primer with 3 coats of rustoleum black paint. The new body panels are bare metal and not rusted. I have several original body parts such as windshield, hood, firewall, grille, tailgate and front fenders. I have 2 complete hurricane 4cyl. motors. One motor has a bad cylinder. Neither one has run for over 10 years as this jeep was stored in a garage since the 60’s. I have extra complete front and rear axles with leaf springs also. I will not part out any parts except the extra axles. This jeep is currently stripped down to the frame and ready to start reassembly. This is mainly a package deal. Please call with any questions. Cash only.”
Peter shared photos of a few jeeps he used to own.
He writes, Enclosed several photos of Jeeps in the 1960’s which I thought might be of interest. Two of these were taken outside Metamet the Jeep dealers in Daleham mews London around 1966 at the time I was making regular trips for parts.
The other photos show my first jeep CJG which I regrettably soon found out was more suitable as spares. It had at some time been given some form of conversion and the body extended, the rear enclosed with planks ! An extra length towbar can be seen. This jeep was beyond ever getting being put back on the road so was soon disposed of.

Ron forwarded this ad. Gary is looking for booklets, information, and spare parts for FJs.
“I am interested in buying information on Jeep FleetVans both FJ3 postal van and FJ3-A Commercial van. Highway Products Company in Kent Ohio built and assembled the bodies for Jeep for the Post Office Delivery “FleetVans” from 1960-1966 +-
If you or a family member worked there and have any pictures, history, parts, blueprints, records from that time; please get in touch with me. I will be glad to buy originals or copies. The history on this vehicle is sparse; I’d like to improve that.
Also I am interested in buying parts or complete vehicles.”
Probably not too vintage, but still an interesting piece.
