Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This May 1942 Junior Scholastic magazine had a Ford GP on the cover.
“Junior Scholastic magazine for school kids. Week of April 27-May 2 1942 issue.
16 pages. A little larger than 8 inches x 11 inches.
World War II era article about the modern mechanized cavalry charging into battle on motorized vehicles, motorcycles (like the Harley-Davidson WLA), and even horses still.
Complete. Clean pages. No water damage. No creases. Normal amount of age-browning to the paper. Considering the newspaper-quality wartime paper used, this magazine is in remarkably nice condition after 70 plus years. There’s some minimal red marking here and there. The delicate folded, stapled-binding has a small amount of separation along the top and bottom edges, but is holding together well.”
Probably not many of these left in the world.
“This auction is for a vintage wooden Jeep puzzle/toy. It comes in its original box with a parts diagram. Made in Japan, probably 1950s or 60s. In new condition, never played with. 5 1/2″ L x 2 1/2″ W x 2 3/4″ H.”

It’s supposed to have the Willys frame.

All new brakes, drums, wheel cylinders, brake lines, master cylinder, axle bearings and oil seals…less than 10 miles on them. The hardtop looks good and includes a soft top, too.
“This jeep needs total restoration but comes with some rare parts, factory aluminum hardtop, doors, and windshield frames for both soft and hardtop. It has a 4cyl overhead valve that is seized and comes with 10″ aluminum wheels with 33-12.5 tires. Call before 8pm please. thanks”

There seems to be value here. Rims, tires and hubs look good.
“Bought this Jeep for a fun project to restore but now have medical bills and need to let it go. Engine is a newer Buick (I think 1986) has about 50K miles, rebuilt carburetor. Needs work to be road ready. See pics and call to make appointment to check it out.”
Sellers has done some work.
“For sale is a true Army jeep, not a cj that has a coat of od green. I have a Wisconsin title in my name with the military vin. It has been converted to 12v, and still has all the blackout lights and switches. The tub is fairly solid, not perfect, but a great start. I put all new axle bearings, seals, wheel cylinders, brake shoes and lines, as I started restoring it from the bottom up. It has a buick v6 with a twin stick. Has bumperetts, pintle hitch, jerry can and holder, spare tire carrier, canvas loops, lifting shackels and brackets, and many more expensive and rare hard to find parts. It also has the fold down grill, so it must be an early 53.”
