Tim forwarded these pics of an early truck he found outside Mack’s Paint and Body shop in Hartselle, AL. It’s even sporting a Christmas Wreath on the grille.

Looks like a solid M-38A1.
“This is an awesome Jeep. Purchased in 2005 from a gentleman in Massachusetts. This Jeep has always been garage kept. It has a title and was appraised for $8,500 in 2005. There are 45,000 miles on the engine and very little rust on the body. This vehicle runs well and the 4 wheel drive, works perfectly. The original 24 volt system remains and has a floor board start (no key). Very few modifications have been made to this Jeep and it shows well as is or can be brought up to show quality with little work. The gentleman I purchased from did add an overdrive gear which allows the Jeep to reach higher speeds. There are some minor “dings” in the body, but overall is in very good condition. Lights and electrical system are fully functional; turn signals added for street driving. This Jeep also has a heater!”
I can’t tell if these are $1000/each or for everything.

“1946 or newer Jeep WILLYS. I don’t know the exact year. It has new tires which are supposed to be for Jeeps of the genre. The generator was rebuilt a while back. This is in great shape and has a lot of potential. It is a collectors item. I do not have the time to finish it out so am selling it to someone that can appreciate it. No obvious signs of rust.
“The Jeep has been worked on and runs and drives well. Four wheel drive, 4 cylinder Jeep. It does need a little work, the fuel gauge needs to be replaced. A little rust on the body. The Jeep really only needs a little TLC.”

“Good condition. Body has been sandblasted and painted. Canvas top custom-fit to trailer. Solid floorboards.

This CJ-5 has been stretched in the middle.
“At some point someone took the 1957 Jeep Willys body from the frame. They cut and extended the body by 13.5 inches right in the middle of the door frame. They sprayed the under body with a rust inhibitor and dropped the body on a late 80’s CJ-7 frame. The AMC straight 6, transmission, axles and etc are all original to the CJ-7 (as far as I know). Registered as a 57 Willys.
I take it out around town twice a month or so. Good BF Good All Terrains on it.
Wanted to tinker with it but don’t have much time or expertise. Now have #2 baby on the way.
A buddy said to start around $4000. Might also be interested in a trade or barter for a different 4×4 I could use as hunting rig, fence work, side by side, 4 wheeler, etc. Let me know!”
