Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I’m amazed there is any property like this left at Newport Beach. I suspect the engine is not stock.

Looks like a parts jeep.
“I have 48 CJ-2A for sale. Original motor, and drivetrain. The body was swapped for a military body at some point, a box was also welded to the rear for more room. This is a huge project, I always wanted to do it but have moved and need to sell. The VIN plate has long been lost so a bonded title would need to be obtained once the vehicle was brought back to running.”

“1942 Willys MBT 1/4 ton military trailer. Trailer needs restoration but has original tags, a unique rebuild plate, and is a pretty straight restorable project. More pictures are available Asking $1600”

(09/15/2013) Engine doesn’t run and has other updates.
“1958 willys panel jeep 4×4 project. Does not run. 350 chevy 700r4 auto and I think a 208 transfer case. Dana 44 axles front and rear out of a scout 2. Rancho lift kit. Tinted windows. I have the original bumpers. Has title.
The bad:
The engine has not run in 2 years. Starter died and has a fuel leak between carb and the mechanical fuel pump. It hasn’t been driven in 9 years due to the ring and pinion in the rear axle breaking
there’s no front drive line and the front and rear axle having mismatched gears and there is a leak in the brake system somewhere.”
