Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It looks like this was an old school trail jeep that someone was modifying into a rock crawler.
“1942 Ford G.P.W project lifted on chevy full length 8 lug 3/4 ton running gear sittin on 35″ tsl swampers over half tread with a chevrolet 350 under the hood runs great needs drive lines built and some welding done been on Oregon creek and trail runs at least 5 times and rubicon once by previous owner will fit 44″ tires no problem has huge p.t.o”
This might be a pretty good price for only $1000 given the work that has been done.

There are a ton of updates to this Jeep.

It looks nice enough, but I just don’t think the seller makes a strong argument for the rather high asking price.
“1946 Jeep CJ2A that has had a complete body-off restoration. Many items have been chromed and a new set of chrome wheels and tires. The engine is original and has been completely gone through. The Jeep hasn’t gone more that 50 miles since being restored. Custom seats have been added and many other accessories.”

“I’m selling this CJ3a for $3500 firm. I recently put an original style L-Head back into it after the previous owner did a V6 conversion on it. This L-Head is a higher compression version of the original; a Kaiser Supersonic engine. It has excellent consistency of compression between the cylinders. This vehicle also has brand new (about 500 miles) BFG All-terrain 30×9.50-15s.
The vehicle just needs the ignition wired up to start and the exhaust is not installed, though I have all the pieces.”
If my addition is correct, readers have located 6 rare Stewart handcrank heaters in the US & UK. They are rare enough that the antique Road Show people couldn’t get any information about them from their buyers (see the 2nd to last post on this page).

I always laugh when I see the “it ran when parked” comment.
“This is a WIlly’s jeep that is a project. I just want the thing out of my garage. My husband bought it from my brother five years ago and promised to have it running within a year. Now I just want my garage back. $1200 OBO…price is not firm
When the jeep was parked it was running with the new motor, but it needed new wiring. The jeep does have the hood, tailgate, and door frames…”

“I have for sale a 1948 Willys Jeep that I have owned for some time. I no longer have time to restore it and am looking to sell it to a good home. The motor is newly rebuilt and has only a few miles on the rebuilt motor. I have an extra block, head and two crank shafts to go with it as well as lots of extra parts. “48 Willys CJ-2a in beautiful condition. Buick 3.7 V6 with 4-barrel carb, original twin stick T-case and 3-speed transmission, power steering, heater, full cage with nice paint. Nice new top and 31″ tires, bikini top as well. One of the nicer flattys you’ll see around and gets lots of compliments. Moving to Utah and can’t bring it with. Runs perfect.”
