Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (04/25/2022) Those are some big tires for the undersized rear axles (the early DJ-3As used a Dana 23 in the rear, while the later ones used a Dana 27). The seller has listed the DJ-3A prefix (56337) as the serial number. This has the rare 0-8 King Seeley speedometer with an intact needle.

“This 1956 Jeep CJ-6 is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle is drivable and is not regularly driven.
Vehicle Details
1956 was the very first year of the CJ-6 production which spanned just under twenty years – and saw just 50,172 built. Based on the serial number, this would be the 417th one built! We had this engine running in the Fall of 2021, but would recommend rebuilding the fuel pump and cleaning the tank etc. Continue reading

“Selling my CJ3B, 134 4cyl engine, runs good. Clifford research header, T90 3 spd trans, Dana 18 transfer case, 5.38 axle ratios, Lockright lockers in both axles. Delco alternator, Bestop soft top with doors, 11″ self adjusting brakes on both axles from a 74 CJ5. Nice running jeep from NJ so it has some rust. But it includes a post 1964 CJ3B frame and a good CJ3A tub to graft to the CJ3B tub. Also includes a new front bumper and other jeep goodies and a good rear factory hitch and stock draw bar.”

I’ve owned a lot of Willys in my life, a lot (like 25-30 civilian and military) never had one like this, this truck is special, it was loved. I think this truck is amazing, preserved in an original patin. The previous owner’s wish (and mine) is that it remain like this… just an opinion, but…
TJ shared this cab enclosure style hardtop. I can’t tell if the door windows are original or not. Maybe they were removed, repaired, painted and reinstalled?

Dave bought a CJ-2A with this cab enclosure included, one made by Pentagon.
“Aluminum hard top with doors. It came off a Willys CJ-2A. It may fit other early CJs, please check. Good condition, very solid. It has cracks in two windows and a small hole in the driver door. You must pick up, cash or Venmo.”

“Began restoring the Jeep in 2017. Most recent work was replacement of the steering column. Records of all the work done will be provided. It has been stored in a garage or warehouse. It is driven regularly in the neighborhood. I am unsure of the mileage.”
