Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This is a great looking CJ-5. I suspect there’s a few additional upgrades on this jeep.

I never seem to have the time and money @ the same time to fix it. Needs wiring, lights etc,,, I have access to a trailer and can deliver on the olympic or kitsap peninsula. $2995 OBO”
A good price if you need a set of inexpensive tires for your jeep.
“NR78 15lt size tires on 15×8 rims off of willys jeep, tires are basically 31×10.50 15 , tires have decent tread left, be a good set for hunting season.$150 firm”
Looks like there’s the typical door rust. However, it’s running and there is extra parts.

Here’s an unusual find. It appears to be a pretty stock DJ-3A. It looks to be in very good condition. If it’s running and no rust, I’d say this is a great collector piece.
“1959 Willys Jeep. Antique. Hard top with sliding doors very rare. NOT A POSTAL JEEP. Has standard left hand drive. 3 speed on the column. Very little rust. Came from out west. 50,000 miles 4 cylinder flat head . New brake master cylinder.”
UPDATE: I do not know whether this sold or not. I’ll keep for historical purposes.
Obviously, these don’t appear every day. Note that this one has been stretched 6 inches, which makes it ideal for placing on a CJ-5 frame. It appears to have a solid back, like a DJ-3A.

The image on the Ad was a bit dark, so I lightened up. I don’t see a Jeep, but I do see smoke.

Once again, I’ve been searching the internet. The newest quest for information involves brake line sizes. Specifically, as I posted a few days ago, I pulled brakes lines and a combo valve from a late 80s Cherokee.
One of the things I didn’t realize initially was that the front brakes lines are 3/16″ while the rear line is 1/4″. The question I had was, does that matter? After some searching, I landed on the Hotrodders site where readers discussed this issue. The nut of the discussion was that this should not be an issue and, in fact, has been done on many newer vehicles….
When I built my last jeep, I removed the wiring from a totaled Chevy Vega. Using schematics I copied at a library, I was able to sort out the wires and hook everything together. This time, I don’t have a wrecked Vega in the driveway. Moreover, I didn’t want to spend the time at the junkyard pulling one out of a wrecked vehicle. So, I made the decision to purchase a kit.
My first thought was to use a Painless Wiring Kit, but they seemed to be few and far between on Craigslist. So, I figured that I’d have to buy a new wiring kit. When I looked at the price of a new Painless Kit, I thought the price was a little high, so I turned to ebay to see what was available.
