Interestingly, the body appears to be a MB/GPW, but the driver side cutouts are missing. So, I suspect there’s been some body work done at some point.

Who needs a bored out monster engine to climb rocks? I’m always amazed at these modified jeeps that still run L-head engines. This CJ-2A looks to be wearing an MB/GPW body.
“Runs excellent, very mechanically sound. Features: Original L head four cylinder, power steering, 12 volt system with new alternator, brand new electronic ignition, new water pump, new wheel cylinders, 8000lb warn winch, both axles fully locked, lock right locker in front axle, detroit locker in rear axle, front axle completely rebuilt, highlift jack and more!! Have receipts.”
This jeep looks very straight and nicely accented. It has some interesting headlight bezels. It also apepars to have an overdrive setup.
“1949 Jeep Willys CJ2A in excellent condition. Beautiful charcoal grey exterior with purple accent stripe. 6 cylinder engine runs good and transmission shifts good too. 4 wheel drive works like it should. New tires and wheels. A very respectable Willys. Must see to appreciate. We have never driven it in rain or snow. Usually sits inside our barn and has antique insurance on it. Could take to shows if you wanted to.”
UPDATE: The price has dropped to $1500. It’s been for sale since June. There are more pics this time. It looks like it’s in pretty decent shape.
“Runs great/original Needs brake line. Call Mike @303-913-6453, leave msg if no answer.”
This ad made me laugh, because the seller claims this “body has not rust”. Now, the hat channels may in fact be in great condition and maybe it’s just my eyes, but isn’t there rust on this body?
“Great project or parts Jeep.No engine, trans or hood. One of the nicest body tubs I have ever seen. This body has no rust out, even the hat channels are solid. It’s a rolling chassis on 16″ wheels.Put your drivetrain in it or use the body on your Willys. No sense spending alot of time and money fixing up a rusty Jeep when you can get a rust free one.$750.858-705-1878”
Need some cheap 12″ x 15″ rims? Here’s two of them along with two 10″ x 15″ rims.
“I have 4 of these 15″ wheels. These fit the old style DANA 44 axles. They are for some big mud tires. Two measure 10″ wide for the front and two measute 12″ wide for the back they have deep offsets. They would be perfect for Super Swampers, Terra Tires, Boggers, or any Mudders. Please call Stuart at (360) 698-2384.”
“1951 Willys 4X4 Jeep Project. Solid body, Floors been replaced. No engine. Nice project”
UPDATE: The price on this jeep has dropped to $2500. **SOLD**
I was driving through Caldwell the other day and the dealer was just parking this jeep as I sped by the lot. So, I couldn’t resist turning into the lot to take some pics. Of course, after walking up to the jeep, it took only a couple seconds for a sales guy to come over and offer his help. He tried making a couple points about the jeep, which I gently pointed out were incorrect. I then provided him with some information about the year of the jeep and how it differed from a military version. He got quiet after that. Though I didn’t tell him, I would say it’s way over priced. I wouldn’t pay more than $1500 for it as, for starters, the front of the frame at the point of the grille on both sides has been welded, re-welded, and cross welded. Here’s some pics.
“1947 willys with cj3b body civilian, 327 corvette engine, 4 speed muncie, overdrive, the new body hasn’t been cut or drilled for guages $2500.00. “
Not to make fun of the paint job, but I really thought something was creating shadows over the jeep. Then, I looked at an interior pic and saw it had a strange camo paint job. I thought, ‘wait, that’s not on the outside of the jeep’. But, I was wrong, it is indeed some type of camo on the outside.
