I should have some updates on Friday morning. In the meantime, thanks to Don for giving us a guided tour of the 2022 Willys Reunion.
No Updates Wed
Mom’s house is under contract, so I need to make one last trip to round up the misc stuff in the garage, along with a bunch of boards. So, I’ll be away from my computer all day Wed and probably some of Thursday. The new folks are excited about the place, so that’s great. And they are even taking mom’s cats, so that’s a plus as well.
Given the above is a boring paragraph, we’ll turn to Blaine and a photo he shared with me that appears to be a Tri-ang pedal jeep out of Australia driven by a young girl.

Rob in NC is Seeking a Few Items
Rob is hoping to find the following items for his CJ-2A. The closer to North Carolina the better, but he is willing to ship for the right items. Email him at rob @ humblerootslandscaping.com (remove spaces around the @ before emailing him). If you’d like him p#, comment below and I will email it to you.
- A half (or possibly full) cab for a CJ-2A in good shape.
- Some 1950s 10 spline hubs. He currently has later model Warn hubs, but hopes to find something earlier to better reflect the age of his CJ-2A. Examples of what he is looking for include Early Dualmatic (lever-type), Early Cutlas, Early Warn, Free-Lock, Kelly, or Husky hubs are what he is hoping to find.
- Finally, he’d love to get a Capstan winch (complete setup), but understands how rare such an item is.
1961 FJ-3A/Fleet Van “Installer’s Model” Brochure
I lucked out on snagging this unusual FJ-3A brochure. It focuses on the repair industry. It is form number 61-14.
1943 GPW Paradise, CA $5800
This must have been a pretty cool jeep in its day.

“This is a very cool old-school build from the 1960s. Check out those custom doors. So much vintage nostalgia. It has a small block Ford V8, Saginaw steering. wide wheels and a custom dash. It has been recently rescued from Being stored for over 20 years. It’s a project! The engine runs really good. (New carburetor, new spark plugs and wires.) It steers well. It has a new brake master cylinder and some brake lines. it needs the rest of the brakes gone through, an alternator and the wiring redone. message me and I can send you a walk around video”
1947 CJ-2A Billings, MT $1600
Dan shared this stock CJ-2A with a Porter & Reed hardtop.

“1947 Willys Jeep all original, only thing missing that I am aware of is the original generator. I don’t believe the cab is original either. Has been sitting since early 1970’s and does not run that I am aware of. Montana title in hand.”
Year? M-38 Avondale Estates, GA $4000
A tree knocked this M-38 loopy. Thanks to Tom for spotting it. The seller is more optimistic about saving the body than I am. But, there looks to be lots of useable parts.

“Late model Willys M38 military jeep. Tree fell and it sat for a few years. Not running. All original except for fuel pump, exhaust and gas tank. Missing forward battery box. 5 original military safety beaded wheels. Dents can be beaten out with hammer and dolly (if I can do it, anyone can). I’ll throw in an extra correct windshield, correct seat frames, hood, tail gate, steering column with box and an extra body if needed. 24 volt. Engine will not turn by fan blades and nut is missing from crank. I’ve not removed the head but I believe block is standard bore. Waterproof bell housing. Cuno oil filter, depot installed rear corner plate. and appears to have all OEM bolts. Rust through on floor pans (small) and passenger step but an easy repair. Bed is in great condition, minor surface rust on fenders, grill, and side panels. Original Willys manufacturer’s data plate. No title. If your looking to restore a M38 with correct original parts, you found it. Not perfect by any means but you’ll have a correct OEM M38 . Additional photos available.”

1971 Jeepster Commando “Hurst Edition” Lexington, SC eBay
Bill spotted this neglected Hurst Edition Jeepster Commando. The bid price is $2900 with a day + to go. More discussion on this Jeepster here.

“This is a 1971 Super rare Hurst edition Jeepster Commando. From research there is apparently only about 150 of these made that were sent to the HURST company to have some graphics added, hood scoop, tach and few other accessories. This one is a manual transmission and from all appearances appears to the original transmission which makes this one even possibly more rare. The trim tag and markings on the firewall are consistant with Hurst edition markings. The emblems on the hood are there, but are pitted a little bit.
I had hoped to get to this Jeep, but just not going to happen and it needs to go to a worthy home to get fully saved. It does need a full gone through or restoration. Almost all the pieces are there, The motor is in it, but has not been turned over. The radiator is not in place. The original hood scoop is not there but I do have a new old stock hood but it is not in perfect condition. Certainly usable for a restoration but not perfect. We could not find or have the original tach that was mounted in the hood scoop. Continue reading
