The dash tags suggest this was an old club vehicle and/or possible racer. The engine may well be worth a look, as it may have been reworked for some additional power.

“1974 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade 4×4. 304 v8, 3 speed. This is a project Jeep. Motor is stuck, could be clutch fork don’t know. Everything is there for the Jeep except seats, but do have brackets and hardware. Mostly a complete jeep. It is a Renegade cj5 model. It will need a lot of work mainly in driveline and body. Frame is good. Has its original pinto bean style rims and seems to be an original jeep with everything there. Sold as is where is. Will need trailered. No trades. 2500.00”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(04/07/2022) Listed as a 1949, this CJ-2A has an early grille, so it might be more like a 1946. This may also have a Warn OD.

UPDATE: **SOLD**. Was $6000.
Hillery is selling her DJ-5 which she affectionately named “AI Green”. Unfortunately, Mr Green and Hillery didn’t want to follow her move to the desert, so he needs a new home. The license plate “FROM” seems appropriate for a mail delivery jeep. I also really liked the sticker, “Be Kind, We’re All Idiots”.
“This classic, head turning Postal Jeep is ready for his next home. For 4+ years this guy has been my small business stationery shop on wheels. He has been loved by many, nobody more than me. I’ve moved to the desert and he wants to stay somewhere cooler, so we’ve mutually agreed to split ways. He’s in excellent condition for a 50 year old machine.
Among the many things I’ve had replaced over the past four years:
– Rebuilt with a CJ-5 straight 6 engine
– Brakes
– Carburetor and Fuel Pump
– Starter
– Torque Converter
– Brakes
Cons
– Fuel guage has never worked (but I’m told is an easy fix)
– No power steering, be prepared to work when driving this guy!
Clean title with records showing work done.”
Eric postedthis cool little jeep to the Willys CJ-2A Facebook page. His grandfather did the original work. The redesigned jeep had fallen into disrepair before Eric began the work necessary to resurrect it back to how his grandfather’s build.
