Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1962 FC 170, Jeep, Willys, body is in pretty good condition. Has a bit of rust on the inside of the cab around the windshield. Looks like the original drivetrain. I have not tried to turn the engine over it’s been sitting for years. I had it inspected by the WSP and applied to get a title to it and am about a little over a year away from obtaining a title to it. I can transfer the current registration to another Washington resident so they wouldn’t have to wait another three years to get a title.”

Mike spotted this ad for wagon and truck parts. One of the wagons is a sedan delivery wagon.

“This is a 1951 Willys CJ3A project, with a clean title. I’ve wanted to complete this restoration, but life circumstances have gotten in the way. The jeep has an original L134 “go devil” engine, 6 volt system. Engine doesn’t run, but is free and turns over under starter power. Transmission and transfer case appear to be free, statically shifts into: R, 1, 2, 3, high, low; and transfer case in/out. Chasis wiring has been pulled, needs a new complete wiring harness. Original fuel tank and oil bath aircleaner were junk, have been scrapped, and need replaced. Previous owner installed new exhaust and wheel cylinders. I apologize for the sub-par pictures”
Phil’s father’s 1943 MB(?) was stolen from his father’s property in Philipsburg, MT, around October 1st.
“This Jeep was stolen from my Dad’s property in the Philipsburg area on or around October 1st. The Jeep is a 1943 Willy’s Military Jeep. It is a unique custom build with a lifetime’s worth of work done to it. One of the most notable features it has a 3.3 Cummings diesel motor. Reward if found!”
Here are two pics. Other features not mentioned by Phil include the CJ-2A windshield, a replacement body with an M-38 fuel tank, CJ rims, a slat grille and a square-tubed roll bar.
