1949 CJ-3A Lake Point, Ut $3500

Brett found this unusually painted CJ-3A.  I can’t tell if this is a well executed canvas of trees and limbs or an arbitrary splashing of paint.

Saturday at the Midwest Willys Reunion

• CATEGORIES: News • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

While it was cold and rainy, mixed with, gulp, a little snow here in Boise, weather improved out in Ohio for the Midwest Willys Reunion.  Both Bob and Brian snapped a variety of images and gave their own perspectives

Bob writes, “Much better weather today in the mid 70s. There looked to be about 100 Jeeps of all sorts today. There were lots of Cj2as and 3as, three CJ3Bs, and lots of truck and wagons. A whole lot to look at!  The little Jeep dispatcher [the red jeep a few pics down] was very cool and sold for around $5500. Also, there were lots of parts to be had. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the high 80s.”

Hey Bob, what is sticking out of the side of the yellow flattie? Is it an air cleaner?  Is the ‘windshield’ glass or plexiglass?

What’s the color on this flattie, red or orange or a blend?  I like the color.  Nice dually, too!

This is the DJ-3A that sold.  Are these DJ-3A windshields taller than a CJ-3B windshield?  Or were they simply re-purposed for the DJ-3A?

I’m assuming that is an aftermarket bumper?  I can’t say I’ve seen one of these on any jeeps for sale that I have seen.

Brian seemed to be captivated by the trucks and wagons during this visit.  He captured some great pics of Chad’s project (Chad received the Toledo Brick award, something the Reunion staff has been doing for several years now. It’s a brick from the old Jeep plant in Toledo.) and a pic of his favorite at the show, this wagon below (click on the pic to get a much larger pic).

Here’s images of Chad’s truck:

UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was $10,000. It has a Muller Top.

UPDATE:  More pics.  Some interesting pics of the custom soft top.  Price dropped to $10,000.  This also comes with the electric overdrive, which demonstrates you can sneak one of these behind a transfercase in a flattie.

(10/06/2009) It looks like there’s been some well done customizations.  I’d like to see more pics to see more.

1947 CJ-2A Los Molinos, CA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1000.

I like this one.  If it were closer ….. This appears to be an old club jeep with the rare windshield mod and some great old slot rims.  It also has an updated column, probably power steering, and likely swing pedals.  This might make a good foundation for an old school build.

“1947 Willys Jeep- set up for small block Chevy engine. No engine in it now. $1000.00 or best offer.

Year? M-38 Mount Vernon, Wa **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: M-38 • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000. this might have a rare M-38 split windshield.

Here’s what looks like a M-38 (it’s even printed on the front bumper), which means the seller’s year of 1944 is off for some reason.  Though, it appears to be missing the passenger side tool indents.  This will require a closer look.

“For sale is a partially restored 1944 Willys Jeep. Engine and running gear runs well. $4000.00 OBO. Please respond via email.”

1948 CJ-2A West Jordan, Ut $4200

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , , , , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Brett spotted this interesting find.  There are at least 3 unusual features on this CJ.  The most obvious one is the paint job; unclear what the inspiration was, but it’s unusual.  The second feature is the automatic transmission that has a column shift rather than a floorshift, which is a clever mod.  Finally, while I have seen expanded windshields, I can not remember seeing an expanded windshield that uses a CJ-2A frame (with the exception of the one below this post — strange how these things surface sometimes).

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2900.

Brett and the Utah eWillys Bureau should be proud of this find.  Check out the sort-of-custom body on this jeep.  I’d like to check this out more closely to see exactly what’s left of the old body (if anything).

“1951 Willys Jeep. 283 V8 Chevy small block, 4 speed transmission with 33×12.50 tires. Custom built body, new corbeau seats with harnesses. Runs strong, new wiring, new gas tank. I never use it so it just sits in the garage. Time for it to go.”

1954? M-38 Kanosh, Ut $3500

• CATEGORIES: M-38, M-38A1, Unusual • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Thanks to a reader named Brett for pointing out this jeep.  The front part of the jeep appears to be a M-38, though the year is off.  On the other hand, the rear body on this jeep looks suspiciously CJ-5ish.  I’d like to see some close up pics to see how the front and rear of the body has been merged.  Perhaps it is a M-38 and 1954 M-38A1?

“1954 Jeep Military. !2 volt alt, 4 cyl flat head engine, front and rear seats, body in good condition. Brake wheel cylinders have been replaced. Body is in good condition with little or no rust. Selling Jeep and buying 4 wheeler. Come and see it at 210 North Main Street, Kanosh, Utah 84637.”
