Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “For sale or trade. 1946 CJ2A Willys Jeep body fenders hood windshield tailgate grill and frame only. No title. Body and parts are rough but can be used. Needs the typical rust repairs,it has the original floor under steel plate but not sure of its condition. Frame is in great shape with front horns intact and not hacked on. The guy I bought the frame from stored it behind his barn and the front passenger side sat in the dirt and has rust thru should be an easy fix . I have a spare frame section to repair that area. I was going to make a trail jeep but have since purchased a M37 and will be focused on restoring it. The pictures of the complete jeep are before it was dismantled just to show its overall condition. BEST OFFER or TRADE for M37 parts.”

(08/02/2012) The seller doesn’t say, but I believe this is titled a 1941 based on the frame. It sounds like a solid little jeep.
“Willys CJ2a body on a 1941 Ford GPW frame. Buick Dauntless Oddfire V6 w/ SM 420 Trans. (granny 1st gear). Stock front Dana 25 with a Dana 44 rear (limited slip posi). 488 gearing. Dana 18 transfer case. Lifted with Rancho springs & shocks. BFG 33″ tires. Best Tiger Top with low back Best top seats. Rear tumble seat. Upgraded 15 gallon gas tank in rear with 4″ LED brake lights. Hoofer Jamboree rack w/spare tire and 2 can holders. Warn 8274 winch mounted with accessories. New Pioneer CD/USB deck. Radiator recently cleaned and flushed.

Mark, Bob, and Sebastian all reported that Saturday’s weather wasn’t the best, with either rain or threats of rain. Still, there was plenty of to do and many jeeps to photograph. The most photographed vehicle seems to be the Concept FC. There are many fans of that rig.

One of the arguments for the Parkway conversion is that the delivery wagon “can now be registered as a suburban vehicle, which grants it access to boulevards and other zoned sections where commercial vehicles are not allowed.”

Buz spotted this one. It is a no-reserve auction on a beautiful, stock CJ-5. You’ll want to look at the pics of this one. Compare the picture of it to the brochure below in the next post, too.
“Selling for my computer inept friend. This 1960 Willys Jeep CJ5 is in Beautiful Original Condition, probably the nicest original CJ5 in existence. Totally Original Paint, Upholstery, Engine, Miles, Everything is ORIGINAL. 21055 miles. Clear Title. Original Spare Tire is not shown in the pictures but is included in the sale. The tires are believed to be the originals and are in good shape with normal wear and no weather checking. The Jeep has been stored in a carefully climate controlled building and has seen just enough use in the last many years to keep everything functional and working well. The Jeep starts easily, runs perfectly, goes down the road as it should, and it needs nothing. The Hardtop appears to have never been removed since new. All fluids are fresh and the battery is new. Look closely at the pictures, they tell the story about this vehicle better than words, more detailed pictures are available if you request them via email. The Jeep shows very minimal use and wear with no damage or repairs. All sheet metal is in oustanding condition and the only corrosion is very minimal, located near the tailights on both sides, the pictures show this clearly. Floor pans, fenders, quarter panels hood, undercarriage, were undercoated early in this CJ’s life and have been remarkably preserved. There are no hidden problems, repairs, or any funny business … This jeep is the real thing, a near museum quality original, unmolested survivor.”
