This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It has a MB/GPW body. There’s some parts value. It’s a project. It’s very easy to climb underneath.
“1948 willys jeep rock crawler, wheels are rollers only, small tires goes with jeep, extended frame, dana 44 front, 12 bolt rear, out of 84 k5 blazer, no motor(set up for small block chevy), yes it does have(sm420 4 speed trans, novak adaptor, dana 20 transfer case), uses 1320 u joint, steering was set up hydraulic, have parts to set up manual w/powersteering $2,500.00”

(02/15/2014) The seller has spent quite a bit of money on it so far. The Warn summer hubs look good.
“HERE IS MY 1948 100% RUST FREE WILLYS CJ2A AND 7 TEAR COMPLETE MECHANICAL REBUILD PROJECT THAT I COMPLETED THIS PAST WEEK AND JUST GETTING A FEW MILES ON IT NOW….ORIGINALLY SOLD IN CALIFORNIA TO A PROMINENT CALIFORNIA INDUSTRIALIST AT THE TIME, THIS CJ2A HAS LIVED INDOORS IN THE DRY CALIFORNIA DESERT ALL OF IT’S LIFE UNTIL I WAS TOLD OF IT’S AVAILABILITY 6 YEARS AGO.

(10/16/2013) This has some underside rust.
“This began as a project 3 years ago. The jeep has been in a barn on the Ragan ranch for approx. 25 years where it sat after the brakes went out. It was moved to a different barn in Santa Ynez where I got it and brought it back into action in 2011. I use it now for my lawn care work in town. It has all original parts except for an alternator now, a 12 volt system and a solid state ignition. I have the original points distributor as well. It runs nicely and it is what it is. Yes, the horn works. I NEVER ride around with it without an overwhelming response form about Everyone who sees me. I ride with the windshield down. I arrested the surface rust. The under side needs some attention. Some small rust holes in the low side above the floor. The 4 wheel drive works sooooo well. I have two wheel brake cylinders to install for better braking.”

Looks like the rear axle has been changed out for a wider one.
“1947 Willy’s Jeep CJ-2A. Chevy 327 V8 – Power Steering – New brake lines and drums – Edebrock Carb with K& N Fiiter – Tow Bar – Plow Attachments (plow not included) – Runs, Drives, Stops and Steers. Not a daily driver just a toy that will need tires and some TLC. Perfect Rat Rod Project.”

“Body and frame are in solid shape. No motor or transmission, transfer case is in the bed of the Jeep. We have a soft top with doors that come with it and some other after market parts if you are interested. $1000 obo.
Also have a 1987ish Jeep Cherokee, Chevy 4.3, 3 speed automatic transmission, it ran when I parked it. Has 3/4 ton axles with 5:13 gears and a detroit locker in the front and hardened shafts in front. Front axle is a Dana 44, rear is a corporate 14. $1000 obo…make me an offer, I want them both gone.”
