Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s definitely got a variety of good modifications. It looks well equipped for the trails.
“This Classic is set up for the Hunter/Offroader. V-6 Engine,4 Speed (Heavy Duty Ford Truck) Transmission.
Warren Overdrive, Power Take off Wench,Oversized brakes, Chevy Steering. Cargo Rack with Jerry can racks in the rear, Tow bar, Full Roll Cage. Trailer hitch, Reciever hitch in front,Dunlop 31X10.5/R15 Mud Rover Tires (like new).”

“1946 CJ2A Jeep with Arctic Top. Engine runs good, rebuilt starter and Carburetor. New tires. This jeep needs some body work (after all, it’s 62 years old.) The frame rails are solid, only surface rust that I’ve seen. I’m sure I’ve done some other things to it. If I think of them I’ll edit the posting. And yes, the carburetor has been covered at all times. I just took off the cover for the pic. I’ll sell the Jeep without the Arctic Top for $1600.00. Prices are firm. These Jeeps are getting more valuable daily. I just don’t have the time for it any more”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800.
Sounds like it needs a little work. Strangely, no step-side drain holes or a gas inlet hole. I’m not sure whether the back is solid or not.
“46 Jeep CJ2A with some other parts, like the windshield is 53.- Military colors, this is a great farm jeep or offroad project. Runs great, great rubber. Floor pan has some rot. Frame and all other parts and metal are in good shape. Front seats in good shape. 12volt conversion done and makes it street legal. We used it for the summer house, comes with full doors and top.”
UPDATE: This one is still for sale. It’s a steal, unless the owner is leaving something critical out. It’s been for sale for 6 months.
One look at the parts list and you’ll see a lot of similarities to my build. While the ‘needs TLC’ always raises an eyebrow, if the updated parts were installed well and the body is in good condition, then I think this price is rocking.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $600.
This appears to be a great price assuming you can at least turn over the engine. The body parts look pretty good from the pics as well.

UPDATE: Since I was heading to Seattle, I decided to stop by and check out this old racer (Also, it was a great excuse to head east out of La Grande, Oregon; Great drive!).
This is a total old school racing jeep. The builder took a stock jeep, threw on some desert dogs, upgraded the engine with a buick v6 (leaving the stock exhaust manifolds), threw in a roll cage, vented the carb into the cowl, and that’s about it. The builder’s son felt that there was a dana 44 in the rear that had posi, and maybe the front too, but he didn’t know for sure. Unfortunately, the weeds kept me from being able to get a jack under the jeep to test whether it had posi or not.

It runs, it plows, and it appears pretty darn stock. Can’t tell much about the condition from the one distant image.
“1948 Willys Jeep with 6 1/2 ft meyers snow plow. Have title and also comes with soft top and tow bar. Original 4 cyl engine with new tires and custom dual exhaust.”
The auction on this CJ-2A is almost up (or may be done by the time you read this). This CJ-2A has a most interesting feature, a CJ-5 body has been grafted onto the back of a CJ-2A body. I will admit, from the pics it could have ended up looking worse. The seller neglects to mention this, whether purposefully or not is unknown.
“1946 Willys CJ2A, New brake shoes,hoses, master cylinder and wheel cylinders, new fuel tank,line and carburetor, new tires, This is a clean Willys. the only thing that does not work as far as I can tell is the emergency brake. This comes with bill of sale only.”
Note the driver’s side cutouts. This is likely an early ’46.

“Sb 350 Chevy, Turbo 350 tranny, built, mild cam, Edelbrock Intake Manifold, Holley carb, gear drive, Hedman headers, B&M shifter, 4-point harness, racing seats, cutstom rear gas tank. Motor has like 5 Hours on it. Went to the sand and broke the rear-end. Have New Quik-Change rear-end to go with. Brand new paddles, (used once) $2500 OBO”
