Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: *SOLD**. The jeep as a whole was sold back in 2014.
(12/28/2017) The hardtop looks to be an early Willys-Overland Worman-manufactured hardtop .. a very hard to find item.

It’s not clear to me whether this was part of a fire department or just made to look like that. The seller is firefighter.

“I’m a firefighter and it’s time to sell my “fleet”. The fire trucks have been sold but this 1947 Willys is a solid runner. Top and bottom of original engine has been rebuilt. New radiator installed last September. Has Warn hubs and like new Toyo tires. In addition to four wheel drive the overdrive allows you to drive comfortably at 50-55 mph, Tow bar will be included. Emergency lights have been removed.”

Listed as a 1945 CJ-2, this looks more likely to be a 1946 CJ-2A.
“1945 Willys Jeep Model CJ2 Willys Overland Motors Inc Toledo Ohio USA 1/4 ton four wheel drive vehicle Jeep kept in Palm Springs, California. This Jeep is in good running order and in original condition. Many repairs have been done to keep it operational. Four wheel drive works, steering has been repaired and works well. In the past few years, four new Military mud tires were put on. The original color was military green but the current color is red/orange.
The seats have been replaced with more comfortable ones but the original seats are available and are in need of repair. I do have many photos of the Jeep and video of it traveling up a hill in the desert. It has no issue starting and it runs well. The stock steering wheel, front Willys hood and tailgate along with drop down window are all original so this could be a great restoration project for someone. There is a clear and updated title and registration for vehicle. 12 volt system. Six speed transmission 3 high gear, 3 low gear.
Minor oil leak in transmission, along with minor leak in front and rear differential. It currently is using 5 gallon gas can for gas tank. Price is $7500 without delivery for vehicle. Original seats would be no charge. Seats are in need of work”

“Ok frame in great shape I pressure cleaned it up & painted w/gloss black,4cyl hurricane motor rebuilt runs excellent w/3speed manual transmission,Jeep has brand new steel tub $3900,new steering column,new guages,new tires,I bought this Jeep from a family up in Asheville Nc they had it for years comes w/clean title,it’s all original except the new tub.it runs&shifts good and all that needs done is new wire harness done to have lites,also go new seat belts-new taillights-headlights I got a roll bar”
