It runs.
“You can plow your drive this winter in style with this jeep. It’s a little crusty around the edges but still keeps on going. I’ve never been able to get her stuck enough that she couldn’t drive out of it. If it doesn’t snow this winter then at least you’ll have a fun mud toy. With a little tlc she’ll keep going for a long time.”
Jim spotted this one.
“This is a project. It has a good 4 cylinder engine, fresh rebuilt trans. It does need to be put back together as it was being torn down for a rebuild. It could still easily be put back on the road in a weekend. It comes with tons of spare parts. I bought this with every intention to do a full build.
You can easily have this thing running in an afternoon hook the carb up ,add a battery and fuel I know this thing will run.
It is a full blown project but you don’t find a willys with a title for this price often”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
(12/04/2015) The rear of a CJ-5 body has been melded onto the body.
“I’m selling my 1949 Willy’s. Runs and drives. The frame is perfect the body is not bad. New top and seats. Mostly stock. Call with any questions.”
Looks like there’s value here.
“1959 Willies C J 5 original owner excellent shape needs brakes, ignition and radiator need cash fast willing to deal”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1300.
That roll cage might be for a flattie based on the front loop bends.
“Jeep cj 5. Picked this up on another deal and have no need or want for it. Here is what I know, it cranks over strong but no spark, body in good shape some rust and bondo in right rear but metal feels straight so not sure of why there is filler, rear tire holds air about 3 hours. Someone put new springs and brake lines on somewhat recent. Looks to be all original underneath. In good shape overall and I don’t think it would take alot to get on the road. May consider part trade.”
Looks solid, though I’m not sure what’s under the strip on the side.
