Mostly “ORIGINAL” 1955 Willys CJ5 (civilian jeep-5)

Nearing 60 years old without any rust. NEVER HAS! I can prove it. You will be the 4th owner of this mechanically sound classic antique Jeep.

Rebuilt original Hurricane 4 cylinder F head motor
New fuel pump
New ‘off the shelf’ factory original carburetor
Rebuilt factory original generator
New starter
Completely re-wired with 6 volt original era cotton wrapped wiring
New electrical regulator
Custom extended skid plate to protect E-brake drum

Thanks go to Steve for spotting this jeep on municibid.com.  Plenty of details provided, though the pics aren’t the greatest.

“The Thorndale Volunteer Fire Company is selling a 1975 Jeep CJ-5 previously utilized as a brush fire unit.  This vehicle is owned by the original owner and it was delivered on June 7, 1975.  The configuration into a brush fire unit was completed by the Brush Buggie Corporation  prior to delivery.  Configurations included the integrated roll cage, water tank, extended front bumper with fire pump, and emergency warning lights and sirens.  The vehicle was refurbished in May of 1993 by Fire Company members.

The water tank has a 1-1/2” inlet for filling the tank.  Pump provides water to hose reel as well as 6 foot garden hose stored under the passenger’s seat.  Vehicle is capable of “pump and roll”.

Damage includes a tear on the driver’s seat upright portion, a small tear in the passenger’s side seat upright portion, a dent on the passenger’s side front fender, and dent on passenger’s side jamb.”

It looks like the interior of the body has been extensively repaired on this Texas hunter.

“Jeep has rebuilt engine, new carburetor, new gas tank. New brake lines, new wheel cylinders, new master cylinder. Body has been painted with bedliner inside and out. Frame undercoated and seats have been redone. Has gun rack and Koenig 8,000 lb pto winch. Detachable quail rack with gun rack and place for ice chest. Jeep is mechanically sound and runs excellent. The seller lists this as a M-38A1, but it looks like a CJ-5 to me.  Given the bumper, I wonder if this wasn’t a service station jeep at some point.  Here’s another example of the same bumper.
