The University of Toledo’s digital archives (UTOPIA) includes several pages of a wartime record report for the Willys Overland fiscal fear ending September 30, 1943. The report spans 107 pages, but the digital archive only includes five of the pages. The part that caught my eye was a table of contents line showing a discussion of the “Jeep” – Evolution of a New Military Vehicle, a chapter that lasted 16 pages. Has anyone ever reviewed the report? The full report appears to be in the Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections.

I haven’t seen many of the hardtops shown in this brochure. The passenger side door (that is, the left hand door) is particularly unusual.

Here’s an interesting document.
“ook was placed in a stack exposing the cover to some oily-like residue that produced two 1 1/2″ inch stains upper right area. Did not want to continue listing without noting this change. Looks worse than it really is. I add another picture at the end in detail. Thanks! Wonderful and rare book. 8.5 x 11″ roughly. 58 pp. US Army Tank Automotive Center. Very good condition with owner name in pen and small stain “stripes” on upper-right cover.”

This looks like a unique piece.
“Here I have an Extremely rare Willys Jeep Military proposal for a 4-Year program from 1956.
This is a Plastic Comb Binding Book which was apparently used in presentation for the proposed 4-Year Military Development Program for the ¼ Ton 4×4 Willys Vehicles.
Book is dated 10 October 1956.
Books specifies the M38-A1 and presents analyses of weight reduction and cost savings.”

Dan ran across these interesting service bulletins from the Carter Carburetor Corporation regarding Willys-Overland motors.
Here’s an interesting bit of history for those interested in the Safari Kar. The seller marks this as a released in 1996, but given it is introducing its 1995 line, I think it was printed earlier.
“Original typewritten press release , 8.5 x 11 , UNILLUSTRATED , describes 1975 to 1983 remanufactured US Post Office Jeeps . This was printed in 1996 by Safari Kar .”
