NOVEMBER 2025 UPDATE

Well having some internet issues this AM. Back in the day I called it “Downloading the Dinosaurs”, maybe that’s was an AOL reference, I forget but not my invention it was some ad or something that someone was sitting around waiting on the Internet to download stuff.

So welcome to November 2025, more than half way through already! It’s been a crazy few months for us but I think a very productive month. We are closing down 10k sq feet and moving in to 24k sq ft at work, so that’s been super challenging to sort through a few decades of materials and equipment pretty much everything is in boxes or storage, dumpsters, trailers, box trucks. Just chaos all around for the past 3 months.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, lots to be Thankful for always a good time of year, I hope everyone gets some downtime over the holiday season.

Maybe I can preload some content to hold you over for a few days.

Happy Posting

On the eWillys front this is just about post #968 for me since late last year. Back when I started helping it literally would take 20 minutes a post at times due to either issues on my end, or connection delays. But overall days like to day where the actual internet is lagging, we really are running on a World Class back end with NetFire and they really are a huge reason for how we are here. When I took a shot at this one of my main concerns was hosting, I knew I had their support and they really put a lot of work into the site with multiple developers helping along the way.

If you are in need of a solution to a technology something from MSP to Website, or looking to get your app developed please check them out, you can email me as well post@ewillys.com and I can put you in contact with someone over there as well or answer any questions I can.

eWillys on YouTube

Started a YouTube channel for eWillys on Nov 4th, the intent there was to be able to post small shorts for people to get some more visibility to their for sale ads.

It’s a huge platform, definitely does not work the way I thought it was going to work. But the reach when “they” want to promote your content adds 1k to 2k additional views. But is all Algorithm controlled, I have played around with some of our photos and grabbed a few of each type, then overlay a song. For dedicate For Sale ads they don’t get any views and are hidden away by the Algorithm. I guess with a Subscriber base that would be something that people are looking at. First will work on the actual content and go from there.

You can’t really link back to the site that has been disabled for a few years, so I try to add in some description and people will just have to search out eWillys.

In 15 days the small videos got 12.2k views and 36.6 hours of watch time across 13 shorts and one video. The watch time to me is amazing, but I don’t know if this will net anything, the time to make one is very minimal maybe 3 minutes to make one. So not a big ask of time. Will work on it.

To monetize this is very hard you need many subscribers and watch hours. “Shorts” forget it you need 3 million views over 90 days and 500 subscribers, that is not my goal for the site or that, was hoping to get some sort of additional view for folks to sell their rigs, +100 targeted views on an ad is pretty huge to a seller. That’s what eWillys provides a few hundred views on the ad and then it pretty much gone to the bottom. I think we grab a few thousand but how targeted are those I figure a fraction of those.

Overall with each and every ad I don’t have any skin in the game here on this. The google ad sense does very well when enabled and I really dialed in those at the time when they shut me down for who knows what reason, so that is an option , but they just clog up the site with click bait and links it makes great revenue but I still have them turned off for now.

Feel free to check out and if you like it Subscribe to the channel for more eWillys content.

https://www.youtube.com/@eWillys-1N7

Thanks to everyone for checking out eWillys! Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks, Tim

Former Bantam Building in Butler County Destroyed by Fire

Jeff sent this over, I did catch this on OWF and the local news.

There is not much left to the Willys stuff in Toledo. I do recall there was a lot more out in Toledo in the early 2000’s. The one smoke stack is there.

But back to this one, it might be cool if they sold off some of the bricks to preserve and possible raise some funds for a small area, lots of supporters out in Butler area and around the country.

A part of American history for sure out there!

Lift from search below>

One firefighter suffered a minor injury during the November 2025 Bantam factory fire, but there were no other reported injuries. Over 50 firefighters from 11 stations responded to the blaze, which caused extensive damage to the historic building in Butler, PA.

  • Injuries: A minor injury to one firefighter was reported.
  • Firefighters: More than 50 firefighters from 11 fire stations were on the scene.
  • Damage: The historic Bantam Jeep factory building was destroyed and will need to be demolished.
  • Cause: The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Information from email:

Good Morning

The original Bantam factory was destroyed by fire about a week ago – I was there for one of the first Bantam Jeep shows.

October 2025 Update

Welcome to October!

Some good events coming up this month.

If you have an event you would like us to share, please send over to: post@ewillys.com

10/18/2025 (NEXT WEEKEND)

EPIC WILLYS MINI RACE;  GETTYSBURG, PA

10/19/2025 (NEXT WEEKEND)

MASON DIXON JEEP GATHERING;  WESTMINSTER, MD

Recent For Sale Rigs……….

These are rigs folks have sent us For Sale Directly, not included in this one is the 1960 Hotchkiss M-201 that recently was added, that’s in the side bar to the right for a quick link to that one. I did get an email on that one this AM, I passed on to the info I have on that one.

Virtually in the shop…

Over on OWF was fun to follow along a Diff rebuild, always fun to see the progress of folks projects. Setting up these old Dana’s for some pros is probably second nature, but for some of us tinkerers it’s in interesting process to see it all work out in the photos anyway. Chasing the pattern and getting it dialed in with each move.

I think the tools we have access to today really make it easier for some of us.

Take the new style carrier and pinion bearing pullers, these are really neat and just make life a little easier, if you have not run across these you might want to try one out. The first time I used it, I destroyed the cage on the carrier bearing, it had no instructions and I was “I got this, with no help from YouTube, how hard can it be”. Well that ended badly, but I wound up reassembling the parts and pieces and looking at a video and it popped right off.

Here are a few tools I have for my DIY rebuilds. I get a lot of help from OWF and Jeff and Phil are great resources to set us straight along the way. You don’t need all this to do this stuff just sharing some things that have made my life easier.

Carrier and Pinion Puller

These have different color clam shells that goes over the bearing and clamps the race and rollers then the underside of the race and pops off the bearing with an impact.

Desitin or Boudreaux’s Butt Paste (White on Left) vs Yellow Gear Marking Compound

Yes I have tried the Desitin Diaper Creme, and it works, it’s basically like a Fish Oil based product and if not too horribly hot it works OK.

Case Spreader

These can be a point of contention at times, do you honestly need one, probably not for DIY use, but the import versions now a days are failry inexpensive and they are really slick how they work and for me it makes it super easy to get the carrier in and out, does not add a ton of time, and as you see here I did check the spread just to see how it works, and you don’t really need to do that but one time if your curious, it does not take much to get the case spread apart. Neat tool, was glad I tried it.

Flexible Dial Indicator Holder

For sure not in the “need” column, but when it Rome I had another use for this so I tried it on the Diff and it worked well. The magnets are strong, the way these articulate are really neat as well, it would be helpful to have 3 hands at times with this thing, but again not in the must have, just sharing.

Pinion Holder

Under $20, I’m sure its an import, and really this is a wonderful tool, I think this is a must have for holding the pinion, really helped me out.

DIY Pinion Depth Plate

This was scrap we made into a plate to check the pinion depth, it was just my time to make it, my guess is this is in progress as there are no holes in it to measure through yet!

Well figure I would share some of those basics I use in the shop for my DIY Stuff, for the pro and experienced rebuilders, It may seem crude or unnecessary but I found them useful. I still have the old school press and bearing separators you really need to have a good selection for when these new fangled tools just don’t get the job done.

I hope your projects are moving along!

Thanks, Tim

Couple big posts from September:

Dave’s Collection

Dave the founder of eWillys is selling his collection, please check out this collection, I think some has been sold. We all keep Dave in our thoughts and prayers as he goes through some health issues, he built this amazing site for all of us to use and enjoy so want to make sure we keep that going.

Holy Toledo Calendars

They are out and about, if you subscribe to The Dispatcher and choose the Calendar option, you should have it and its a great one, if you are not a Subscriber, I highly recommend you check out the Magazine and the Calendar, head over here to check those out.

The Willys Reunion

The Fall Reunion was held early in the Month and had a great turn out; to check out some of those pics you can see them here.

http://willysreunion.com/fmwrphotos.htm

The Jeep Meet Up in Cle Elum WA

Jim held his event in Sept and it was a good one from what I head back, sorry no pics to share, if anyone has anything happy to post up, send a link or some photos over to post@willys.com

Notable For Sale Ad’s

Larry’s Collection

Larry is looking for a buyer of his collection; available separately, package, parts, pieces, can answer any questions that anyone has please reach out to him.

I am tweaking the way we handle these kinds of posts, so just keep that in mind as we work through this you might see stuff stay up, come down, pop back up from time to time. It’s a work in progress for me to figure out our way here.

Frank’s CJ-5

Frank is still looking for a new caretaker for his one owner CJ as well. I really like his CJ, it’s a neat one, fiberglass body and tilt nose, with a hard top and neat cover on the back part.

Shifting Gears……

1N7 Willys Update

Missed what 1N7 Willys is? Well it’s a small space we are physically building out here in NJ to share our working Willys with folks, will have working engines and useable displays for folks to learn on. Have space to hold small classes and put on presentations. Its a work in progress, but making headway.

We have been busy on our 1N7 Willys building, we are working on a collection of manuals and literature for the space, the painters spent most of Sept painting and cleaning up the space, I starting the lights and ceilings in the office area, it’s a lot of work so little at a time.  I expect to move over the Tornado collection this month, the L134 Run Stand, and some other stuff. It’s a really neat project for us and hope to share with folks as it comes together.

We will have some cool working displays and running stuff folks can work on, some tech displays and the sort. I saw a really neat vintage Snap On display that was for old school troubleshooting of an ignition system, that really is the kind of stuff I would like to have in the space to have folks be able to come in and learn the old technology and see stuff work, not a static display.

Outside of the Willys World

It’s been an exciting month, turned the page on our Training Center for my day job, this has been a really fun project, challenging, but super rewarding to get super close to the finish line on a brand new Training Center for our staff, looking forward to its opening soon. This takes a lot of time away from eWillys but it’s what makes this all possible.

Also for work this week while not quite Sept was able to attend an event in NYC where they happened to display one of the new all electric Nascar race cars. They had a small panel discussion with a Nascar engineer and it was a neat show, I need to figure out some Press credentials for eWillys! But it was cool to see while not Willys related might as well share.

Even got to meet Ricky Bobby, it was a pretty fun experience they put together! (that’s not me in this pic), but he was in the room after and we all shared some laughs.

David Eilers Collection –  Four Vintage Jeeps for Sale, Prosser, WA

Dave sent over his collection of Jeeps for posting, “used to run eWillys” is a huge understatement here. But we all fully appreciate Dave’s time and dedication put into the eWillys and the Jeep World to provide this great platform and body of work saving and archiving a huge collection of Willys History. Wishing Dave the best as he navigates his health issue. Keeping you in our thoughts, and if you need anything please keep us in mind. Here is the info Dave sent over – Thanks Tim

#1 PNW4WDA Race Jeep $7000
This lacks a title and is not road legal. It runs and drives. I rebuilt it two years ago and raced it a couple times in 2024. It is fun, fun, fun to drive! It has a built Chev 350 with plenty of power. The body is a very rare fiberglass Parkette racing shell.  The frame is widened five inches. The front springs have been reversed, while the back springs include a sway bar. It starts right up, runs and stops. The only issue is that it can overheat. I *think* the issue is that the brakes need to be adjusted as it may be fighting them. It includes additional desert dogs and other tires, along with some rims. There are extra seat belts and other parts. An unexpected health issue forces sale.

See it running here: https://www.ewillys.com/2023/09/24/testing-out-the-complete-race-jeep/ or here: https://www.ewillys.com/tag/leftovers-racer/

—— Pending Sale ——

#2 1949 CJ-3A Parts Jeep built on a 1973 CJ-5 frame. $2000
The fullcage is built for the body and attaches in six spots to the frame. This jeep does not run, but does have a title. It will need to be trailered. This is a custom build with outboarded springs in the rear and reversed springs in the front. It has a rebuilt V-6, but that was rebuilt ten years ago. It has not been started. It has a T-98 transmission and a Dana 20 transfer case box with Dana 18 gears. It has a Dana 44 locker in the rear and an open Dana 30 in the front. The body is a modified fiberglass Bobcat body with a custom fiberglass hood and fenders (both lengthened about 6 inches). This includes a never-mounted tan Kayline top. There’s a lot of value there. (Other pics prior to disassembly https://www.ewillys.com/2012/08/06/just-a-few-updates-today-monday/)

==========================

1956 DJ-3A Convertible $4500
This early convertible two-wheel-drive DJ-3A is pretty near stock with a very solid body and front clip. The convertible DJ-3A model has the solid back, 2/3 1/3 front seat, column shift, and a few other unique features. This does not have the original convertible top (there are only two or three left in the US). It was originally purchased out of Patterson, California, by an Apricot farmer. He added a couple features including a very rare vacuum tank under the driver’s side to support the dual vacuum windshield wipers. This also has the original early King-Seeley 0-10 speedometer seen in early CJ-5s and CJ-6s. This runs and drives, but could use some alignment work. The brakes will stop, but they could use some work. The original paint (Presidential red?) was covered over by the original owner to a warmer red/orange. I took this up to Alaska as part of the Alaska Or Rust vintage jeep event in 2017, which is why it has signatures on it (I got folks to sign it along the way and we added stickers). I had no plans to sell this, but an unexpected health issue forces sale. $4500 You can see it running here: Today I discovered a leak in the electric fuel pump, so I will have to fix that.

#4 1962 FC-170 Tour Jeep.
The cab of this jeep is from an original FC-Tour jeep. This cab is extremely rare, one of five or six. This is a project. These FCs were originally built in Colorado for the San Juan Scenic Jeep Tour Company.

You can see two restored FC tour jeeps here: https://thefcconnection.com/vacations_with_the_tour_jeep.htm. My FC Tour Jeep sits on a 2000 Ford Explorer Chassis. When I bought it, it ran, but barely stopped. I was told it was ready to be driven on roads. However, once I spent time with it, I discovered that there were numerous defects that made it unroadworthy and unsafe. So, I was forced to rebuild the cab area. I rewired it, installed hi-range-low-range capability, redid the steering and master brake up, and much more. It was not a project I was looking to undertake, but I made good progress until I ran into health issues. You can see all the pics here: https://www.ewillys.com/tag/fc-tour-jeep-build/?orderby=date&order=ASC $15,000.
I bought this with a three-axle trailer and am willing to sell it an additional $5000.

This pic shows (top) how I was going to rebuild the bed using the existing roll bars, (middle) how it looked when I bought it and (bottom) what I believe to be the original passenger setup.

August 2025 Update

• CATEGORIES: News This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

August 2025 Update

Summer flew by as it always does, it was a pretty great Summer this year with lots of adventures and work getting done.

Decent email traffic and requests for ads to be posted

Had some more postings for sale that people emailed over, I decided to add a shortcut to the right side Widget Bar for this sorts of ad’s For Sale or Wanted. Was also able to make some connections for some folks who do not have FB that wanted to get in touch with the Seller. That can be hit and miss, I try to vet out the Sellers as best as possible, I look for a real profile and then that profile has friends and the sort. It can be hit and miss on the emails as well so I do attempt to look at where the emails are coming from and the sort. Nothing is perfect and we have had some fake ad’s get posted which I immediately take down.

There are others that are just plain fraud but are real ad’s and they are impossible to get removed, but if I’m notified we will fix it ASAP.

Most of all be vigilant when your shopping, if its too good to be true it probably is. If they offer tons more then they should it’s a huge red flag. Lots of phishing schemes and the sort out there to get your Willys Bucks!

1N7 Willys Update

Finally got started on our NJ Willys HQ, got some carpet taken out, painter is on site and we should have the front offices looking pretty nice by the end of September. Excited to get that project off the ground, one of the hopes and dreams for this space is to house one of almost each type of Willys Engines and have a place where folks can see the older technology and then even test and tune on something old. Will have some fixtures of a Front and Read Differential, so stuff like that. Got to just take it how it comes as I have a lot of other projects for the family and my day job takes up a lot of time. But its all fun.

Yellowjackets, super aggressive this time of year becareful!!!!

This weekend was all about the Yellowjackets, I had to battle 2 big nests, one at my place and one at a buddy from works place, I use a vacuum that has a long 1-1/2 Pipe that keeps me away from the nest as best possible then move forward as you suck them up to get them removed, it’s a process for sure. These are not the happy bee’s that can co-exist with people, these are aggressive and do not belong where the nest are built and are a hazard to kids and pets who might disturb them. So more things to take away from Willys time, but has to be done.

Family Time

Kids started Soccer this year, their first year out, that’s been an adventure, I played as a kid and always had a fun time with it growing up, hard to try not to say anything from the sidelines, but have to let them figure it out their way and the coaches are very helpful and supportive of brand new players as a bunch of them are figuring it out for the first time. This is very similar to how a Willys project goes at times, there are a lot of things that many of us have never had to do before and just need to be patient and take it as it comes and keep plugging along as we figure out these new “old” rigs.

Let us help promote your events and Willys Adventures

As always if you would like us to promote anything or an event please let me know, email post@ewillys.com

The Fall Reunion is this weekend in MO and looks to be a great event, if you are in the area it is one of those you will probably enjoy it if you have never been before.

All of these events are typically run by some level of volunteer staff and their families, then the great Willys Vendors step up and provide what they can so that these events are possible, so please support the event and their various vendors and sponsors!

Happy Labor Day!

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day, looking forward to what September brings, its kind of like the a second new year’s with School starting back a great excuse to get refocused a bit before the cold creeps back before we know!!!

Daily Email, maybe? Work in progress

One thing that was requested via email was for eWillys to go back to sending daily emails when there were new posts. I started looking at plugins to do that, does not appear the site supports that currently, but there are some options for that to happen. So we hear you and thanks for sending in those sort of things, if they are on your mind you can bet someone else is thinking the same thing, so it help us when we know about that kind of stuff. There are some technical challenges and opt in process that needs to be looked at, but I have started the process and gaining knowledge about the way it all works.

Ad’s

Ad’s are back off again, they put us in the penalty box for some unknown reason, so I just decided to turn them back off. I thought I had a really good balance for the ads and it was down to 3 clicks for a new visit, and had a sequence of when the ads would show and the sort. Well they had better plans and after I thought I got it all worked out they said we violated some policy but were not going to say exactly how it got violated, it’s a cat and mouse game. So I just turned them back off if they want our traffic they can come back and ask for it. The Header is the only ad currently, I keep the Header active so the account stays active, it turns about 0.30 cents (USD) a day off that ad. It was fun figuring the system out and proved it will pay for all the site costs and some upgrades, but I don’t need to clutter the site up with the ad’s at this time, so leaving them off for now. If that needs to change and we need to get them back will push that down the road.

Hope everyone had a great Summer and their Willys projects are moving forward!

Thanks, Tim

1941 Jeep Willys Clips

• CATEGORIES: News This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Was looking for some info on the “Spiced Chick” Delivery Panel Wagon out of Springfield AR and just struck out, no luck on the name, person, phone number, this happens from time to time.  Well while expanding my dates and times I ran across some neat stuff, nothing new or hidden in an attic, but I found some 1941 stuff related to Willys and the Jeep while I was digging saved a few…..

The Mays England Motor Company was very active in tying the Jeep to the Willys Cars in their advertising from the get go, here are some cool shots and clips from their various ad’s.

Overall there was great interest in the vehicle when it was produced, from all over the World here are some clippings about Canada, England and Russia interest in the Jeep.

I have a cool story about a Tiger in a Willys Wagon, one day I will get that one posted up and finished up, here is an early hunting story and the Jeep!

This was an interesting article where a kid was lost for 8 days, it just mentions the Jeep in passing but even so it shows how versatile the vehicles were from the get go, not that anyone ever said different.

July 2025 Update

• CATEGORIES: News This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

July 2025 Update

Welcome to our July 2025 Update.  June was a good month lots of great events and meet ups in the Willys world. Was able to connect with quite a few people in June. I officially surpassed my 500th post here on eWillys. I know its not the volume that Dave was able to post, but I’m super happy with the site and how things are going.

I got to get over to NetFire and meet the developers who helped save eWillys, they are a great bunch of folks, very talented and hard working. They put on a cook out with some burgers, steaks, drinks after work one Friday, it was awesome. I really apricate everything they have been able to help us with.

If you are in need of an IT solution or have a project in mind, not just Website related, they provide all sorts of IT management and solutions to everyday problems, security, storage, something small, an app just toss it at them the worst they say is no. But they are a very capable company and they do great work. Tell them eWillys sent you!

www.NetFire.com

July was a blur like most months with the 4th festivities well in the rear view mirror, hopefully if you have a running and driving rig your able to get out some and enjoy it. If your still working on your project, keep plugging away, its hard in the winter when cold, and hard in the summer heat, but one step at a time.

Not too many events turned in, I have posted up the one in PA at AAOP that looks like a nice event. So please check the details out in the side bar it’s linked.

If you would like me to toss up some other events please let me know post@ewillys.com

I was able to take a look at a really neat collection early July; ’42 MB, ’46 CJ2A, and ’64 Stainless Body CJ5. They were really cool rigs they eventually will be looking for a new caretaker for these. Going to be working on some comps and the sort for these, so if you wanted to assist in any valuations let me know. I will be reaching out to a few folks on some of details.

Lot’s going on outside of the Willys World, all good things. In addition to the website we do have a building that we have; eventually we will have more to share on that. It needs some work and we have not really started on it yet, but with some planning and figuring out it will be a fun place and informative for some vintage Willys education purposes. The 230_OHC Tornado collection will reside there along with almost one of each type of Willys engines, I don’t have a F161, but I did see one pop up not too far away from me, I don’t have the time to go get it and its not going to come to me so that will have to wait.

If anyone wants to share anything please let me know.

Get out and enjoy the Summer if you can with some Willys friends.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Thanks for your continued support.

www.farmjeep.com has focused on the Jeep CJ series. While researching snowplows last winter, I came across this eWillys post – https://www.ewillys.com/2010/08/13/1957-fc-150-jamestown-nc-ebay/ Here is evidence that at least one individual used the FC-150 as a Farm Jeep.

Fast forward to the Spring Willys Reunion in North Canton, OH. While talking to some friends, I saw an FC-150 pull into the motel parking lot. As the driver parked, I could see a PTO on the rear! An FC-150 Farm Jeep in the wild. I quickly tracked down the owner, Seth Hensler. Seth, who goes by the name of “redeye_garage” on social media, was kind enough to give me a tour of the FC’s PTO setup.

For demonstration purposes, Seth has attached a fertilizer spreader. You can see more details in this picture.

Seth has a YouTube channel where you can see more of the FC-150, including this one that shows the PTO working at an antique machinery show –

We will soon add FC-150 information from Seth and others to the Farm Jeep site. In the meantime, please let us know if you have seen an FC-150 as a Farm Jeep at a show or in the wild. You may leave a comment here or contact me at barry@farmjeep.com
