UPDATE: Still Available.

(02/19/2020) This may have some late model Free-Lock hubs. I can’t tell for sure. It’s got a CJ-3A windshields and hood. The fuel inlet is not original. This might have a reproduction tub?

“Don’t get excited, they don’t run . . yet. Three vintage early CJ jeeps, all Willys, two CJ2As and one CJ3A. What you see is what you get.
I purchased these three at different times from different sources and was going to get one running “Sarge” jeep for parades and events. Believe enough parts are here to get close to that. But another jeep came my way that will accomplish that purpose and these three can go to a good home.
All three motors turn, not stuck, but have not attempted to start, some do not have manifolds and carbs. Again, my intent was to get one out of three, that’s why I’m sell all three as a lot. $900 takes them all and any loose parts I can find laying around.
The 3A has a L134 engine with a Supersonic head on it and a carb and is the closest to running and the most complete body. One 2A has a Willys L134 motor and the other has a Willys L134 Industrial engine. All three have T90 transmissions and one has a PTO winch mounted on the front bumper.

I have fork lift to assit with loading but if you want to push them or winch them onto your trailer, we might have to switch some tires and wheels around to get rollers.”

TJ shared this pair of jeeps that apparently is home to some snakes. Note that the red jeep has a set of Huffman hubs, the first set I’ve seen on a jeep for sale.

Bradley’s 1949 Rebuilt Wagon

Gayland shared this story from the Green Goddess Glamping website. Owner Bradley Ethington did a marvelous rebuild of this wagon. His tilt-a-rack is particularly interesting. This story is worth a read.

1942 Photo of the Fitch Jeep Station Wagon Car

• CATEGORIES: Features, Old Images, Unusual • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE II: Marc noted the the rear of the vehicle is based on a Renault Juvaquatre. It just so happens this car is somewhat based on the German Opel, which Wally King used to create his Jeepster-like vehicle in Germany following WWII.

UPDATE:  UndiscoveredClassics.com had some additional insights into this vehicle. I tried to learn more about Captain Richard C. Fitch of the Second Regiment Mechanized Cavalry Reserve, Los Angeles, but didn’t have much luck. I did learn he was a design engineer for the Army and was responsible for the MT Tug design (see below post). Below is a photo of how it looked in a newspaper.

=======================

Originally published March 2014:  I wonder what ever happened to this prototype? Marc spotted this unusual photo. The vehicle doesn’t seem very jeep-like, except in its compact design and front clip similarity. It doesn’t appear it was four wheel drive.
