The January 1950 issue of Popular Mechanics featured a story about airline pilot Heath Proctor and his trip by CJ-2A along the Old Santa Fe Trail. I’ve included a few pics below. I’m not sure what’s on the front bumper? Are those push bumpers?

I think that’s the exhaust out the rear? It could get caught on something.
“I’m selling my 1951 Willy’s M-38. I bought it 19 years ago from a farmer just south of where we live. Had the engine rebuilt, new tires, rebuilt generator, cleaned the radiator, new back seat, plugs some wiring. We’ve driven it off and on for the last 5 years, has 1,693 miles on the rebuilt engine and tires. Two years ago put a new Japanese carburetor on it and it has never run right. Needs a carburetor. Still has original manufactures plates with MFS Ser. Nu. 26031 Must make an appointment if you want to look at the Jeep.”
