UPDATE: Two years ago Charles shared a photo showing an unusual loader attachment on a jeep (see the photo below the updated post). At the time, a reader named Chris commented that he had the same attachment. Over the subsequent couple of years Chris has worked to turn his attachment into a working unit. He has completed the rebuild in time to showcase it at this weekend’s Willys Picnic. Here’a s sneak peak. We are still looking for information on this loader!

(ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED DEC 19, 2014) The other day Charles shared some pics of unusual jeeps. One photo (seen below) showed a CJ-2A with a rare style of loader / bucket attachment. Chris spotted that photo and mentioned he owned one just like it, but didn’t know who made it or any history behind it.  Does anyone recognize this?

Craig shared this rebuilt CJ-2A. One pic shows the rear seat in backwards, but maybe it’s just sitting in it and not installed? The top setup is unusual.

“1979 Jeep CJ-5 SA: This extremely rare Jeep is an incredible investment opportunity. In the second half of 1979 Jeep built less than 1000 of the CJ 5 Silver Anniversary editions. There are an estimated 40 still in existence today with any chance of being restored. Less than 10 with the original motor and transmission and no rust! Glenn shared this rare half-cabbed Jeepster Commando.

“This Willys Jeepster is the 4X4 short bed clad in red and white. It has a Meyers 6′ plow – we bought it for plowing smaller areas. Seats presentable with brown leatherette. Body has some rust out – front and rear quarters and other areas. Previous owner was a mechanic who replaced original engine with a GM V6 and claimed engine was rebuilt. Jeep runs and drives. Auto transmission works and Meyers plow works good. A desirable little truck that would need panel repairs or drive as is.”

Needs to be finished.

“I have a Willys cj2a that needs finished. I have almost all new parts for it. I just don’t have time to finish it. Brand new tires and rims, water pump, fuel pump, master cylinder, all new guages. Floor has been replaced and welded. The only thing I think it needs is seats. I don’t have the title, but I checked the vin number it will be no problem to get a title.”
