Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a 1962 Willys Jeep and trailer. The Jeep is in good condition and has a 4 cylinder engine. The Jeep has been mostly used in parades. The top and heater are included, but not installed. It runs well and the 4×4 works well. There are no side curtains. The Jeep was built for the USMC. I am asking $8000 or best offer. Please text or email with questions.”
A McHenry, Illinois, dealer created an obstacle course for potential buyers to test jeeps. The February 1956 issue of Willys News reported this.

It’s a project.
“The project that never was. Cool old jeep, but I have no time for mechanicing. Bought off a guy a couple of years ago who had it setting out near Gateway Colorado for years. Has several coats of different paint, a cool Hard top, complete. Rear end locked up. Tire hold air for ten minutes…… Needs a Rock crawler, or a rebuilder for a new owner.
