Ron Day found this old photo he took showing a group of spectators and their vehicles at a race sponsored by the Jeep Jockeys Jeep Club sometime in the late 1970’s or early 80’s. This is west of Yakima, Washington near the small community of Tampico.

“I have for sale an original American WW2 icon. Both Willys and Ford built the same vehicle with totally interchangeable parts from 1942 to 1945. I have been putting together this project for a number of years and have come to the conclusion that someone else needs to finish it.I have collected quite a few items (such as correct tools, military paraphernalia and extra parts) that would complement a project such as this.”

“1950 Willys CJ2A Jeep, Military, rebuilt 4 cyl motor with less than 1000 miles on it. Upgraded big drum brakes, new off road wheels and new off road tires. Seats replaced from later model jeep. Body is in nice condition with some body cracks where the spare tire was mounted. Luggage rack on back that hold 2 gas cans and an ice chest. Tool box in back seat area. Overall it is a nice old jeep.”

“Willys Model M38A1 built in 1954. It was restored from an M38A1 that was untouched since its days in the US Army. When purchased, It still had OD paint and the hood and unit numbers were still visible. The body was very good.
The body metal is very good with no rust. This jeep has been garaged since owned. Have Top/bows.
Engine still at 24 volts. All engine accessories are correct. Cranks well, starts right up and runs good. Holds the road very well.
The Jeep has a period correct US Army Radio set with antenna.”
