Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Very nice 1946 CJ2a 1946 (one year post WWII) flat fender Willy’s Jeep. $13,000 invested….engine, transmission, Warn Overdrive…ALL…rebuilt last year. New tires, new break cylinders, etc, etc. Military paint – US Navy Seabees”

“Early short fender CJ5 with a running Buick Dauntless odd fire 225 V6, T90 transmission, Dana 18 twin stick transfer case, Dana 44 rear end, Dana 27 front end with Warn hubs. New 100 amp GM 1 wire alternator. Has power steering with tilt column, power brakes, and 33×12.50 Goodyear mud tires. New brake lines. Hydraulic clutch. Runs and drives, and might make a good hunting or ranch rig, but would never be road worthy because the frame has been broken and welded back together in a few places, and is most likely not straight. Asking $1200 or best offer, thanks for looking.”

Comes with restored 1945 American Bantam T3 1/4 military trailer. Owned for 7 years. Always garaged. Runs Perfect. Fresh paint on exterior and undercarriage. Excellent condition. Olive Drab.”

“I am selling my 1955 Willy M38A1, that I have restored myself, not by a professional restorer and registered in Nueces County for $9,500. The engine, however; was overhauled by a professional mechanic. The unit has new brake lines, fuel tank, seat cushions and various other items listed below.
