Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: price dropped to $3200.
Listed as a 1948 CJ-2A, this looks to be more likely a CJ-3A due to the transmission crossmember mount and the lack of holes for the 2A ignition switch.

(07/03/2022) This project bears a body serial number of 17088. It’s got an early windshield. The shifter is on the floor. The body has rust.

Cj2a frame and running gear No shafts in front axle 44 rear Trans and tcase will be pulled before sale Mb body that is very rough and no longer mb. Tool boxes and shovel/axe mount are welded over, dash is cut to hell Front fenders have been widened Lots of bondo M38 cold weather top (aluminum) One tire is good, one holds air for a week , two fronts are shot. If it’s posted it’s available! No you can not buy just the top No I will not sell just the grill I’m totally happy with this being yard art so low ball offers will be ignored. UPDATE: Thanks to Jan for pointing out that on page 4 are two photos of a 2A with a driver’s side spare tire. That would suggest that this issue was printed later than around mid-1948. Given the Santa highlight on the cover, I’d say the Fall/Winter of 1948 prior to the introduction of the CJ-3A. If that’s the case, then maybe these came out every six months?
Thanks to Jan in the Netherlands for sharing a scanned version of the late 1940s issue of ‘Jeep’ News Volume 1, Number 6. The “Cristie’s” at the top of the banner is a reference to Cristie’s Garage out of Monticello, New York.
I wonder if the Mahl Loader shown in a photo on Page 6 out of Minnesota is the one that was restored here.
Peter shared this ” domino machine” that has a jeep-look to it. It auto-arranges dominos so they can fall in an orderly manner.
