“1946 Jeep cj2a Story that came with it this was “The hunting Jeep. Had an engine swap late 70’s early 80’s. Said to have a 350 v8 from a late 60’s early 70’s corvette that had been in a wreck.” Firewall is not cut out.. Very solid.. Little rust.. Engine will need overhauled.. Transmission shifts into gears. Jeep is very much a project. Does not run. Does not drive. Top and doors need reupholstered but frame work is there. Has removable center seat! Needs a new windshield frame and front hubs. This was a running driving unit before it sat in a field for years after original owner/builder passed away. Great start for restoration, needs to go to someone that’ll get to it sooner then I will hate to see it sitting. Trade for aluminum boat or 1962-1973 Ford Truck.”
UPDATE: I am surprised this hasn’t sold.
(05/02/2022) This comes with not one, but TWO ventilating windshields, plus extra parts. Get it while it lasts.

“1968 Willys Jeep CJ5. Comes with extra fenders, axles, and wheels/tires. Has tip out windshield and comes with an extra one. Bucket seats are included.”
Jim shared this good looking Tux Park. It’s got some patches on the floors, but some floor mats ought to hide those just fine. There may be paint on the windshield hinges.

Many thanks to long-time reader Dave Nelson for sending me this rare copy of ‘Jeep’ News. While there is no date stamp that I could find, there is a reference to an April 1946 study in one of the articles; yet, none of the jeeps pictured has the later 2A grille. So, I’m going to guess this is a summer 1946 document.
Also strange is that this wasn’t published out of Toledo. Instead, the mail address is listed as “Jeep” NEWS, Room 700, 305 East 45th South, New York 17, NY.
Finally, also strange, is that a colorized version of this was also produced and it included a reference to the magazine being Vol 1 No 1. If there was a second ‘Jeep’ News made, I have not seen it. My guess is that this was meant to be an advertising piece for dealerships, but it didn’t pan out, so was pulled after one (or a few) issues.
I published this last year

Evan Gillenwater posted the cover of this magazine to Facebook. He seems to think it came from Furgason’s Motors in La Grande, Oregon. The magazine was found at an antique store in New Hampshire.
Here’s the full issue from Dave:
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000.
Looks in good shape.
“1952 CJ3-A Willys Jeep. Runs well. Very little rust. Was converted to 8 Volt system at some point. Replaced the brakes, carburetor, fuel pump, battery and misc. Title in hand. Call or Text for more info.”
Mike shared this mostly stock CJ-3B. It looks like this has a swing-type tire carrier on the back (explains the odd colored swatches on either rear side of the body.

“Same owners for 30+ years. Engine was rebuilt and new clutch installed in 2009. I have receipts totaling $3900. The Jeep was driven daily until 2015, then parked. Put on non-op in 2019. Runs and drives very well. Rewired 12 volt system. Always garaged. No rust holes. Clean Ca. title in hand. Please call, no texts.”
The pics suggest a pretty good restoration job.

“Just resorted, it was purchased in California and I put many hours and money restoring it.

“Runs good, not rusty. Has 6 volt system still with an actual alternator and 6 volt optima battery. Original Go-devil Flathead 4 cylinder. New tires, carburetor, brake master cylinder, springs, shocks and shackles. It’s super fun.
I’m looking for a fiat 500, smart car, MINI cooper, Isuzu vehicross, scion XB, Nissan Cube
Kia Soul, casita camper. Off road teardrop maybe.
Maybe other stuff, throw an offer but if I don’t reply I’m probably not into it.”
