Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1951 Willys CJ3A with plow and hard top runs but smokes needs brakes. 1963 Willys CJ6 rebuilt 4cyl runs great needs rear brake line and U-joint. Car trailer to haul them home on. I have current titles for everything. Package deal $2,500 FIRM. “

Here’s a very nice FC-150. Cool color too.
“Selling: 1957 Jeep Willys FC150 4X4, 4 Cylinder Hurricane Motor, 3 Speed Trans. Lock-out hubs, New tires & wheels. Mileage is Exempt. It has new paint, reupholstered seats. We do not know a lot about this unit. We grabbed it as a “barn find”, and decided to grab it and make it look unique. This Jeep runs great and has top-end speed of approx. 45 MPH. It was formerly olive green when purchased and now it is newly painted Tangerine Orange and Studebaker Beige. We can only tell you that this was a local buy in PA, and we can provide some history of its origin and its travels. This is a very rare vehicle and is in GREAT Condition. More pictures available upon request. Jeep lovers start your bidding! “
David sent us a few pics of his 1956 Wagon next to his 1951 Cj-3A. David notes that it “still has the 226 flat head and is still 6V.” Very nice! Thanks Dave!

“Originally purchased privately in January of 1983 in Heightstown, New Jersey. Has been garage kept since purchase, and believed to have been prior to also. It was primarily used for parades, re-enactments and static displays. Entire body and interior is original, including seat covers, ID plates, and windshield. Body was stripped down and repainted. Some additional body work and mechanical work required to get into show condition. Still has 6 volt system, may need new wiring harness. Generator rebuilt in late 1980’s. Motor rebuilt at time of purchase. Shimmy in front end when driven and small stone chip in driver’s side of windshield.”

These tow trucks don’t come up for sale everyday. That said, it’s a bit rough.
“This is a nice FC170 (FC-170) forward control Willy’s Jeep tow truck. As you can see, the truck is a total restoration project, but being that it is so rare, it would be well worth the investment. It has the original Canfield tow truck equipment minus the sling and A-frame off rear bumper. Has the original motor, transmission, and axles. The transfer case needs repair. Has no front drive shaft. The FC originally came equipped with the deluxe cab option. Also suspect that it may have the severe service option but can’t be sure. More photos can be seen here. The vehicle is located in Woodford, Vermont and will need to be picked up. No shipping or tranportation will be provided. There is no title, but bill of sale will be provided.”
This is one of the nicest M-170s I’ve seen. It’s not museum perfect, but that adds some nice character.
“This Jeep is in great condition, it will still start right up every time and runs excellently. This has been very well taken care of and is quite rare. My grandfather served as a Lt. Colonel in WWII and beyond. He purchsed this Jeep from the Army after his retirement and restored it for me. It is a mechanical masterpiece, they don’t make them like this anymore. Nothing gives me more pleasure than cranking up this piece of authentic United States military history and driving back in time. This vehicle is really great and I hate to part with it. I am willing to let it go for less than it is valued because of financial circumstances….”

“1947 Willys Jeep (eats early broncos on any 4×4 course LOL). Powerful cammed 305 SBC with dual exhaust (30,000 on engine). Original Warn overdrive with existing drivetrain. Front lock-outs with big 11×2 inch brake upgrade. Runs excellent. Jeep was from California so the body is very good. Entire jeep needs some tlc in all areas to be extra nice. New master cylinder included, but not installed. Also included in sale is 2 brand new front buckets.”

This is unusual.
“A unique hydraulic dump body jeep conversion, also comes equipped with a 6′ plow blade. New shocks and master cylinder. Has NYS registration. Please email with a phone number I can contact you with. Thanks for looking.”
This looks like a parts jeep. It looks like it’s been sitting a while. Note the hubs appear to be warn hubs. Maybe there’s some other updates as well.
“This is a willys jeep 4×4 the year is between a 48-53. It has the original 4cylinder flathead motor, high/low transfer case. It would be great for restoring or using it for hunting. I am posting this for my uncle so if you have any questions email me and I will ask him and email you back. I have seen this run and drive. This does not have a title.”

This is a project that’s a bit expensive for a project.
“1949 Willys CJ3A with 327 Corvette engine – $3,000. This Flatfender will make a great project vehicle! The 1968 Corvette 327 engine (Holly 4 barrel) is not running and probably needs a rebuild. Includes Bikini Top and parts for a full roll cage. The tire sidewalls are cracked so bring your trailer.”
