Glenn alerted me to this.  If you are a fan of M*A*S*H, then you might be interested in hiking to the mountain set of the TV Series.  The are is located in Malibu Creek State Park just north of Malibu, California.  There’s a few old vehicles still there, including an earlyish CJ-2A.

Signs would be good to use to tell what was there. Also, it would be cool if they restored the Truck and the Jeep, put them in a building with a sign that says. ” Two MASH Vehicles Come See” or something. 🙂

Never cared for that show. Maybe it was the depressing theme music it had that was promptly played right after the 10PM news the signaled it was time to go to bed. The syndication era when they played it after the nightly news on KSL in Utah was the only time I remember seeing that show on.

That’s where I’m a bit older … I remember watching the episodes as they aired in their original time slot. I especially remember watching the final episode — that was a big deal.

I remember seeing the entire set about a year or so after the end of the show, it was set up in a big exhibit at the Smithsonian in DC. They even had small pieces of the plywood walls cut up in little squares that you could buy as a souvenir. The Jeeps and the Ambulance were there also. I would assume that the ones left behind at the park were some they blew up or otherwise destroyed in scenes. It would sure be nice to be able to Jeep to the site rather than walk.
