Glenn forwarded this ad. He added the following info:
“Hi Dave, This early 2wd pickup is for sale locally. I’ve talked with the owner. It was fire dept. owned, patina and all, never previously restored, and has had lots of recent mechanical work completed. It is local and I’d be happy to do an evaluation for a potential buyer. Especially up here in Maine, we don’t often see the 2wd version.”

“This 1947 Willys Jeep Truck is a first-year example that was acquired by the seller in 2016 and subsequently refurbished at The Jeep Farm in Waddell, Arizona. The exterior was refinished in Bedford Grey with Challenger Blue accents, and the interior was reupholstered in Pendleton blanket fabric and blue vinyl. The 2.2L Go-Devil inline-four was resealed, and sends power to all four wheels via a three-speed manual transmission and a Spicer transfer case. Work in 2020 included a carburetor service, wiring repairs, coolant flush and some paint work. Approximately 2,350 four-wheel drive Willys Jeep Trucks were made in 1947 and this example is now offered with records, a reprinted owner’s manual, and a clean Arizona title in the name of the seller’s LLC….”

Here a nice looking vintage truck. This map is supposed to show where the Bonanza Lead Mill was located. The Bonanza Lead Company operated the Old Dominion lead-zine mine near Colville; I can only guess that the Bonanza Lead Mill was also operated by Bonanza.
“1949 WILLYS jeep pu runs good”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $16,500.
Bill’s got this nice looking truck for sale and he provides a detailed review of what’s been done to it.
“For sale is a restored 1951 Willys Overland pickup truck which I’ve owned for the past 18 years. The truck is a four wheel drive, 1 ton model with a 3 speed transmission and 2 speed transfer case. It’s powered by the Willys ‘Hurricane’ engine and still retains its 6 volt electrical system. Everything works on the truck as it should and it drives and stops fine. It’s been garaged for the past 22 years with the last 10 years in a climate controlled garage.
It’s an older “body off frame” restoration that was started in 1998 and was approximately 90% completed in 2005 after which it was stored for 15 years. I finally completed it this past summer. Unfortunately, some of the work that I had originally completed years ago had to be redone due to the length of time that it sat. It’s only been driven approximately 19 miles since I’ve owned it. Before contacting me, please read below for ALL the details on what work was done and when it was done. And, yes, you CAN drive it home if you want.
Beautiful truck. Does the rear PTO gear box only require two bolts when mounted onto a truck bumper?

“1953 Willys 4WD Pickup. Good running classic. It is mostly original. We replaced the cracked engine block, added an electric fuel pump, went to a cartridge air filter, installed electric windshield wipers and upgraded to an 8 volt system and battery. There is an aftermarket overdrive and the engine was totally rebuilt about 8500 miles (10 years ago). There are new brakes, shocks and pitman. The transmission leaks and needs periodic topping off. There is a minor (nuisance) oil pan leak. The bed has been sprayed and it is a nice smooth running old Willys.”
Beautiful truck with a unique interior (which I would consider more southwestern-themed than western-themed).

“Hard to find Rare Willys Jeep truck 4×4 body off restorated with all very straight body lines and fenders. The gorgeous custom aqua paint is done in high quality with a beautiful western theme interior. These were made for hard work so it is special to find one in this condition. The rebuilt motor is a 226.2cid rated at 115 HP and drives like a dream with its 3 speed transmission. Custom side rails done in high quality are removeable. The undercarriage is spotless. Mileage of 748 is undocumented. Options include: selective drive hubs, power take off, oil bath air cleaner, oil filter, and heater. This jeep also is equipped with blue tooth which was professionally installed for your music enjoyment. No disappointments here as you can drive or show it…a real looker done in high quality.”

“I’ve enjoyed my Willys pickup but time to move on to another project. Selling this great truck for someone else to enjoy. It’s 4-wheel drive and has a 327 Chevy 5-speed under the hood. Runs well and has been maintained regularly. Most recently changed the brake master cylinder, mounted a remote brake reservoir, replaced the started solenoid and replaced wipers. Winner of Best in Class award at the 2017 Bastrop car show.”

“1948 Willys Pickup, Near perfect frame off restoration. L134 Flathead engine. Runs very strong. Four wheel drive fully functioning. I bought this truck roughly 10 years ago as a restoration project. It got out of hand and I went overboard. I used it for a sail chartering business that I have since sold. Not sure of the miles on the engine as the original gauges did not work. I have a lot of extra parts, leaf springs gaskets etc”
