Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I suspect there are a few Garwood converted Willys Trucks still out there.
I have a 1962 willys farm based pick-up with 31,000 original miles which has a garwood conversion as shown in the brochure,everything is original except that the oil canister has been converted to a standard oil filter set-up, and it is now a 12 volt system,also the original gas tank has been replaced with an all aluminum tank,other than that all factory installed equipment still works and nothing was replaced.
