This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have this M38a1 that is in red primer put on it several years ago, it is complete with all the small parts there. It still has the 24 volt system, It runs with no smoke. the carb could be cleaned, the brakes work with a hard pedal, this jeep is complete including the original wheels. It has a nos canvas top. Not road ready from sitting for so long. It comes with a clear title in my name. Has very little rust, one or two patches in floor where previous owner had a heater that leaked. I am selling some of my keeper jeeps. This is a very solid and complete jeep. Has a NOS canvas top.”

“1955 Willys M38A1. runs and drives. Needs work. Comes with original rims and tires along with 33” tires on new rims. Also comes with a ton of spare parts, everything you need for it. Clutch is sloppy and brakes need work. Front driveshaft is out. Has rust. All original except rims and I have the originals. Make me an offer, trades welcome”

“This is one of last 2 of 9 military vehicles sold from my collection, It is is a M38A1 and is in fair to good condition. I describe this jeep as being partially restored. While it does have some minor rust, it would not take much effort to restore it. The body is complete and seems to be in decent shape. Add a new paint job and you will have a nice looking jeep. The jeep runs and drives very well. It starts right up and the brakes seem to also work well. The tires are dry rot and need to be replaced. It comes with a nicely done Plastic Replica 30 caliber machine gun with 4+ ‘ stand and 30 caliber cartridge box (needs to be installed on Jeep) plus what appears to be a Vietnam era flak jacket. Interested parties are encouraged to personally inspect and drive the vehicle. It does not have a title and I doubt it has ever been titled.”

“* have a 1955 Jeep Willy wagon, in a 1955 Jeep cj2. I am selling them both of them as a package deal or separate. I am asking $3,200. Both Jeeps have original Transmissions. The Jeep cj2 no engine but original transmission with PTO. The Willys wagon original transmission with a 273 Chrysler Barracuda engine out of a 67. The 273 cranks over I haven’t had time yet to fiddle with the starter cuz it is dragging, I am told that it will start and run. “This M38A1 was owned by the San Juan County Sheriffs dept in Silverton CO for 35+ years,is part of our high mountain Colorado history. It was bought by a local in 2001 and remained in Silverton until now. I’ve watched this rig for the past 11 years and recently got my hands on it. With a family of 4, 3 dogs and a brand new house I dont know what the Hades I was thinking but at the time I had to have it. I have owned a lot of military Jeeps in the past, have had many M38A1s and know a good one when I see it.
This rig has a very nice Kelly hard top, converted to 12 volt, has the wrong seats in it but otherwise is very original and complete. There are very few “extra” holes, nothing has been hacked or cut up, body, floors, etc are extremely straight, rust free and would make an excellent restoration base or drive it as is. There is a matching spare wheel and military gas can in the back.The tool box floor is perfect as is the glove box floor. This Jeep has no real rust, is surface only, the mud is my fault, I live on a dirt road (see underside photos) The engine starts right up, no smoke, sounds good, brakes are good, shifts tight etc as you would expect with 8K miles.”
