Wichita Jeeps Motorcycle Plate
The Jeeps cycle club was first organized before the creation of the jeep in 1936 according to the info on the eBay ad. Certainly an unusual piece.
“”WICHITA JEEPS” License Plate Topper made between “1943” and ” 1963″, the address on back has no Zip Code so it is PRE. 1963 but
it has a postal ZONE Code “4”. Zone codes were first placed in use in “1943”. The zone codes were in use from 43 to 63, (or so) 20 Years. The plate is at least 50 years old and possibly as much as 70 years old.
SIZE:
8 ” Wide
4 ” Tall
5 ” Center, Tabs on bottom for mounting to a Licenses plate Top
This appears to be a Motor Cycle size License plate item.
There is a crude somewhat worn cast Motorcycle image on the top.
The plate is CAST Aluminum
MADE BY MILWAUKEE BRONZE CASTING CO. 145 S. First ST. Milwaukee 4 , WIS.
The decal on the back is intact a yellow background with black letters.”

“This is a 1963 Willys Jeep CJ-5 that has a working hydraulic plow. The engine is a 225 Buick V6 engine that came out of a 1970 Jeep CJ-5. It has the original transmission and transfer case with the 3 speed and reverse. The engine does run a little rough and backfires on the drivers bank. I put new spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, coil, and condenser on it and it smoothed out some but not all. I have only used it last winter and it worked great. I replaced all brake components including the master cylinder, all 4 wheel cylinders, and brake lines. It has brand new 4×4 lockout hubs on the front. The headlights on the jeep as well as the ones on the plow work.
It has the original drivers seat in it and I also have the original passenger seat that will be included if the purchaser wants it. It runs off a small plastic gas can. I have the original that was mounted under the drivers seat again, if the purchaser wants it. The plow looks 5-5 1/2 feet wide (I have not measured it). The front tires are the stock skinny size, the rears are wider (not sure what size) but all have good tread. I never got stuck with it and the 4×4 works great. The hydraulic pump for the plow does leak some. I’m not sure where but it is a very slow leak. The pump was manufactured in Grand Rapids Michigan. It has a homemade roof from steel bars, osb board and a couple 2×4’s. It will not come with a battery but I have one that can be used so you can hear it run and drive onto a trailer. It would be roadworthy if it had brake lights and turn signals that worked. “
