This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. My new fuel pump arrived for Patterson, so I tossed the old one (which was a glass bowled hand-me-down from Chris McKay back in 2017) and installed the new one. Of course, the new one didn’t work. So, I did the usual over a period of a few days:
I checked the lines, I recheck the lines. I rechecked the rechecked lines.
I checked the clamps on the line. I installed different clamps.
I checked the cam for a groove or signs of it being worn (none that I could feel),
I reinstalled the electric pump to double check the lines and to check there was enough gas (there was and it worked).
I pulled the new pump and hand pumped it with some gas in a container (to prime it). It pumped by hand fine. I reinstalled the new pump, but no luck.
So, I pulled the old pump out of the trash (which had worked fine until late last year), reattached the fittings, and hand pumped some gas out of a small container (that worked).
With the old pump primed, I reattached it. The pump is now working.
That was a lot of work for little progress!!
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $10,000.
You don’t often see the top bows in the bow holders on a militarized 2A. Note this has full floating hubs.

“Grampa’s JEEP just out of storage. It’s a CJ5 put together many years ago from several donors. All stock, no rust, nice full cab, free running hubs, recent paint, looks great but not show quality. Body has been weld repaired, excellent frame, brakes working well, all gears quiet, engine runs but has an ocassional skip. Nice Koenig PTO Winch as per factory specs. I just drove it around and it goes and sounds like an old Jeep should, like an old school build from the 70’s. Maybe fresh gas or some tune up will help, but you can go JEEPIN’ today. Selling for a friend, Grampa’s Grandson. Grampa lived to 100 and was a fanatic about details. Bill of Sale only. If you need title, it’s at your expense as Maine is no title needed for this vehicle. This apparently has a rear facing PTO, but there’s no hole in the bumper for the shaft to connect to a rear gearbox (or am I missing something).

This looks to be an ex-racing jeep. That pinto engine might have some other HP updates besides the offy intake manifold. Note those “heart” rims; I’ve never seen them before (see last pic).

Pinto motor with offenhouser intake and custom header- doesn’t run appears to have factory transmission/ transfer case but I’m not an expert on that. 4×4 with power steering custom wheels and tires. Full set of the wide wheels with turf tires that are old plus tractor tires that appear to be in very nice shape. Custom roll cage – aftermarket gauges .
