This ad promoting “8 reasons why the ‘Jeep’ does more jobs … better!” appeared in the March 15, 1956, issue of the Heppner Gazette Times in Heppner, Oregon. Interesting that it shows a dual pane windshield.

Really interesting ad. I have an ad in this post http://farmjeep.blogspot.com/2015/08/plows-and-more-plows-at-least-in.html that shows the same split screen windshield. Over on the Early CJ5 forum it was identified as a possible prototype.

What I find more amazing is the next to the last drawing of the Jeep with a scoop on the rear. It appears to be Stratton Hydro-Lift. The ad above still shows the Monroe Lift. This is the earliest evidence I’ve seen of when the Stratton might have replaced the Monroe.

    Thanks for posting.

    Clint,

    That’s true. That’s why I concluded the poster I printed is an early/mid 1956, as there is a DJ-3A and a CJ-6 but no FCS 🙁
