This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Thanks to Joe-in-Mesa for spotting, then buying/mailing me this great find out of an antique shop. He snagged it for $35. I’m happy with that price. It needs one of the windshield support arms fixed and some repainting, but otherwise it is in good shape.
After doing some research on eBay, I’ve discovered this one is a little different than the ones listed there or on the CJ-3B page. Those all seem to have a central hole in the back that’s used for pulling a trailer (see examples at the bottom of the post). Instead of a hole, this one has two slots (I found one other with two slots).
Looks like it’s been fixed up.

“Vintage 1950’s Hamilton Jeep Willys flat fender pedal car. All original condition and great candidate for restoration / modification. It would also be a great display piece as it sits. It does have some surface rust from years of storage in a barn but there is no rot.”
This is a cool FC toy. This one is at $25 and has a few hours to go. Another one on eBay is listed at $184.

UPDATE: Roger added the following information … Harold, the guy who sold me the FC Scale Model, said his Dad’s dealership was in Sherman Jeep in Maryland. His Dad had the dealership from approximately 1958 to 1985. He said when he was a kid he went with his Dad to Toledo, Ohio, to pick up new Jeeps.
Roger Martin purchased this metal FC-170 model the other day. It was owned by guy who owned a jeep dealership for twenty-five years. The owner kept this FC model on his desk. The size of this is 6 1/4″ long x 3″ wide x 2 3/4 tall. Obviously, the rear tires are incorrect … anyone know where rims and tires similar to the front wheels could be purchased?

“Toy 1940s Willys Jeep Cast Aluminum AL Toy Wonderful vintage toy vehicle, “Willys” Jeep. Made in 1940s, originally manufactured for Willys-Overland Executives and Dealers to give as gifts. All of the Al-Toy promos were cast aluminum, done by Toledo Casting, dba Central Casting and Toledo Brass in Toledo, OH. This model / replica features the original red paint, a collapsible windshield and a hood that opens. The wheels / tires also appear to be original and are marked “AL Toy 6.00-16″. Shows some paint loss but has no major dents or dings. In overall good condition. Measures 5.5″ tall x 10.5″ long.”
