Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have a 1953 Willy’s Overland wagon for sale. This is a very cool 4×4 for anyone who really loves the classics and wants a vehicle of this caliber and vintage. The engine runs great. It is a V-6 and doesn’t smoke or burn oil. Body is pretty solid, minus some rust on rear fender wells, but for 62 years old, its pretty nice. The interior seats are in great shape with no tears. The dash is all original and all the gauges work. All the wood on the floor is original and in great shape. So here it is, its a beauty of a Willy, does need some (tlc) from the person who wants to restore it. It needs a headliner, but all the hardware for the headliner is there. This is a wonderful collectors Willy’s Overland Wagon. ”

“1st owner was a Doctor from Garretson, SD, who traded it into Billion Motors of Sioux Falls, SD in 1965. 2nd owner purchased it from the dealership that same year and has owned it ever since; where it has been stored in his barn under an old parachute for the better part of 49 years.
Starts, Runs, Drives and Stops. Truck has original Western Plow & Kit. Solid body and frame. No rust. Has original owners manual and spare tire.”

“I have a 58 willys been in storage for 20 years, does not run , engine seized up, chevy v-8, most everything is there, i only see these on the road fully restored or in very bad shape, this one is in good shape there is surface rust nothing you can put your finger through and interior is there but ugly, good thing parts are abundant there are willys web sites and magazines where you can literally find any part even body panels which you wont need, spent thousands over th e years in storage, just thinking of selling, trying to test the waters, if intrested be serious, jeep is in garage and not easily assesable, thanks, no more pics are available and again be serious it not for barter dont want guns tools or tortillas for trade! price is firm, thanks for looking. ”

“I have a 1953 Willy’s Panel Wagon for sale. It is a rolling chassis only, with no title, engine, or trans.
Body is in great shape, with only two problem areas, the area around the gas cap, and the bent up sheet metal under the back doors. Other rust is surface rust only. Panels are straight, and the interior is not all chopped up. Doors wand windows open, but glass is bad. Again no title, but I purchased from fellow in Kansas, with bill of sale. Title can be applied for from Kansas. Call with any questions. Thanks.”

“Hi all,
I have a VERY restorable 2wd Willys wagon project here that needs a new home! I am posting this for a friend who is now unable to get this project going as planned and it is stored at my shop. I will answer any questions I can but as much as I know now is that it is a 1953? wagon. Has MIN-NO RUST! This is unheard of with these wagons especially in the wheel well and tail gate areas. This body is incredibly straight with one fixable dent behind the driver side door and a few other small dings here and there. The floor boards are the only spot that must of had some rust and were “repaired” by the previous owner but will still need proper attn. The firewall is perfect and un-cut. It is on a clean/complete stock 2wd chassis. Has a 4cyl motor but unknown if it runs. Original trans is in it also unknown condition with the original 3 on the tree steering column. the grill and fenders that came with it were in rough condition and the lower tailgate was taken by the previous owner. but, I do have a few donor parts from my project that could be sold with it if you want them/need them.
All in all, if you are looking for a complete barn find vehicle… this is not for you. But if you are a person looking for a great start to a project that will need hardly any body work then this is a perfect place to start! We will include as many extra parts as possible with this wagon and local delivery can be available… after being seen and paid for in person.

Paul Berry let me know that this beautiful Maverick is for sale.
He writes, One of my customers regrettably has decided to sell this beauty. We have done a lot of work to it over the years and it is an outstanding vehicle. There’s been a bunch of work on this updated wagon. Even the front springs are reversed.
“Complete off frame restoration. Has a Chevrolet 350 fuel injection engine with an Automatic Chevrolet 5 speed transmission. Warranty on Engine and Transmission expires on March 15, 2016. It has a Land Cruiser transfer case and Land Cruiser front and rear axles. The Vehicle is driven daily and runs smoothly.”
