This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I can’t remember if I shared this one or not. So, here we go (possibly again) … This oddity was built from parts left over from projects. The pics were shared on Facebook, but unfortunately I didn’t save the post, so I can’t tell you who built this.

“A total of 19,000 Jeepsters were made between 1948 and 1951, but only 1900 were made in 1949. This has been called the last of the American Phaetons. This is not a show car, but a beautiful driver that has been in the family for over 30 years. I have used it in my Magic shows for the last 20 years. “Rare 1949 Willys Jeepster Pheaton Convertible. Runs and Drives. Come take a test drive around the block. We’ve replaced the engine, new fuel tank, fuel lines, master cylinder, brake cylinder, radiator, carburetor, battery, rebuilt starter, hoses, fan belt, fixed gages, water pump, rebuilt generator, fixed front suspension problem, rebuilt the steering box, done most of what needed to be able to drive. It’s still a work in progress”
