Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “i have a 1946 willys jeep cj2a looking to sell asap it runs but needs a carb rebuild and proable a radiator. Drivelive and frame in great shape for age body needs some tlc and patch work. also have a half hardtop with doors for it.”

Engine: disassembled cleaned freshened up, valve job, flywheel milled, new gaskets, clutch,pressure plate, bearing, engine painted, complete tune up, rebuilt carburetor, converted to 12 volt.
Exhaust system: all new
Brakes: New master cylinder, wheel cylinders, steel lines and flex lines.
Body: Repaired floor pans, painted complete car, four new tires, rehab. wheel

It’s suppose to be a mix of parts. No title.
“It been added to from other jeeps. Runs and drives. I think the moter is out of a 48. Also have a top and doors soft. I Know who used to own it. It’s never had a title. I have bill of sales. We can write one up if you want it. It’s been a farm truck all its life.”
The 1948 looks solid, but the drain holes appear filled. The 1946 needs some work (no parking lights for example), so to call it “perfect running and driving condition” seems a stretch.

According to the seller, this is “Immaculate and almost entirely original”. I’d sure like to see those rare CJ-2A 1944 data plates!
“Manufactured in 1944 and decommissioned in 46′ for civilian use. Manual 3 speed long throw shift. Beautiful body with a non-stock rag-top and vinyl door set. 4 wheel drive locking hubcaps on the front tires with high/low settings. Runs great and has no problem reaching max. speed posted on plaque on dash. Fun to off road in. Immaculate and almost entirely original. Vacuum window wiper motors, original army rucksack seats, original wooden carry-on tool box, back bench equip but not mounted for fear of ruining genuine body.
Original flat head 4cyl with refurbishment. Switched out the old 6v generator for a 9 volt. DOES NOT REQUIRE LEAD ADDITIVE – Just takes regular oct.
Can find parts and accessories all over especially online. Driven to several Willys conventions and festivals. Great addition to any parade or Dealer’s car lot.
A head turner for sure.
