Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The stripes are consistent with a 71/72, but an original 73 ought to have a different stripe style, shouldn’t it? Maybe it is a 72 titled as a 73? “This 1973 Jeep CJ-5 is said to have undergone a twelve-year refurbishment completed in 2021 that involved refinishing the exterior in yellow, re-trimming the interior in black vinyl, and installing a replacement 304ci V8 linked to a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes 15” wheels, manually locking front hubs, a dual exhaust system, a black soft top and doors, Renegade graphics, black wheel arch extensions, and a roll bar. Acquired by the seller in 2022, this CJ-5 is now offered in Nevada with service records and an Arizona title in the seller’s name.”

“This 1978 Jeep CJ-5 was acquired by the seller in 2014 and subsequently fitted with a 258ci inline-six and refinished in red. Additional work is said to have included a rebuild of the three-speed manual transmission, an overhaul of the axle and transfer case components, and a refresh of the braking components. Additional equipment includes 15” wheels, 31” tires, front disc brakes, Bilstein shocks, front bucket seats trimmed in black cloth upholstery, three-point front seatbelts, and rear lap belts. This CJ-5 is now offered with parts receipts, an owner’s manual, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.”
Bill spotted this one. It appears to have a 1955 or 1956 CJ-5 chassis (reversed front springs and has a PTO bar setup in the back), but with an M-38A1 body (though the grille is CJ).

“This 1967 Jeep CJ-5 is finished in white over black vinyl upholstery and powered by a 225ci Dauntless V6 mated to a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It is equipped with a black soft top and doors, along with a roll bar, a Badlands winch, a spare tire carrier, a Hi-Lift jack, 16″ steel wheels, Warn manually locking front hubs, and a K&N air filter. The truck was acquired by the seller in November 2021, and subsequent work reportedly included rebuilding the cylinders heads and a valve job in addition to a refresh of the steering system and replacement of the water pump, fuel pump, and carburetor. This CJ-5 is now offered at no reserve with owner’s and service manuals, partial service records, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.”

“This is a 1956 willys Jeep. Civilian variant of the M38A1 military Jeep. It’s a southern Jeep with a TN title. No mileage on the title because it’s exempt. The cluster has 8k on it. Car starts up runs and drives. Just tuned up with a new carburetor. Tub is steel and is mint with no rust. Frame is also immaculate and had been completely under coated. We have been using it as a beach cruiser. Car has a little Bimini top for the summer. Powered by the original 4cyl. 134cid/70hp 1bbl. Front axle is a Dana 25 and the rear axle is a Dana 44. Tranny is a T90 3 speed. Not trying to field a million questions come look at it. Cash in hand for a ride. Needs some love but not much”

“Not a wrangler but I had to pick something Two(2) Willys 1st is a 1956 with title. Runs and drives 4×4 works. I bought it with a 1952 motor in it. Put a new clutch in it and have drove it around the farm. Have the motor that came out of it on an engine stand just the way I bought it. He said it ran but was making noise so he swapped it for the 52. 2nd Willys I believe is a 1953. Motor was set up . I tore it apart to rebuild but the block had been cracked so I did not bother. Body is poor. No title. $4000 Take it all. I lost interest .”

“This is an original 1971 CJ5 jeep with a solid, no rust steel body. It has the rare dauntless oddfire V6 engine that runs great. Pictures with a storage box but it comes with the back seat. Started adding some things but we just don’t have the time to enjoy it. Replaced the headlights and taillights with led, but I still have the originals. Added nerf bars for easier in and out. This jeep is in excellent shape and solid. A great classic to have. You don’t see them like this anymore. Asking 8,000”
