Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1951 Willys M38. Has a Ford engine in it but the rest of the drivetrain is original. Was going to restore this one but don’t have the time. Does not have a title as the PO got it at an auction and recieved a CJ2A title. Paint is partially removed from the body with only small amount of surface rust. Sat in a shed for years. If this ad is up, it’s still available. Asking $2,000.”

“1951 Willys M38 project my son and I started a few years ago. He has since moved away and is busy building his career, so it is time for the M38 to go. It had a Buick V-6 oddfire which was no good, so we built up a GM slightly later model V-6, which is currently in the longblock stage. Have most of the parts and sheetmetal, just needs someone to finish. Have title.”
