FC-150 as a Farm Jeep – by Barry @ Farm Jeep

www.farmjeep.com has focused on the Jeep CJ series. While researching snowplows last winter, I came across this eWillys post – https://www.ewillys.com/2010/08/13/1957-fc-150-jamestown-nc-ebay/ Here is evidence that at least one individual used the FC-150 as a Farm Jeep.

Fast forward to the Spring Willys Reunion in North Canton, OH. While talking to some friends, I saw an FC-150 pull into the motel parking lot. As the driver parked, I could see a PTO on the rear! An FC-150 Farm Jeep in the wild. I quickly tracked down the owner, Seth Hensler. Seth, who goes by the name of “redeye_garage” on social media, was kind enough to give me a tour of the FC’s PTO setup.

For demonstration purposes, Seth has attached a fertilizer spreader. You can see more details in this picture.

Seth has a YouTube channel where you can see more of the FC-150, including this one that shows the PTO working at an antique machinery show –

We will soon add FC-150 information from Seth and others to the Farm Jeep site. In the meantime, please let us know if you have seen an FC-150 as a Farm Jeep at a show or in the wild. You may leave a comment here or contact me at barry@farmjeep.com

Submitted and authored by Barry of www.farmjeep.com. Thanks Barry for the story look forward to seeing if anyone else has some information on FC-150’s used as Farm Jeeps.

1967 Kaiser Jeep M715 Kaiser $8,000 Bulverde, TX

1967 Kaiser Jeep M715 Kaiser $8,000 Bulverde, TX

This one is a neat rig. As a kid of the 80’s the M715 was unknown to me, but it reminds me of GI-Joe type vehicles of which I was fortunate to have many, and still have a few of my childhood relics. I can clearly remember when I would come home from school and catch an episode of GI-Joe and He-Man, good times for sure!

Way later in life I ran across the Willys 230 Tornado engine on OWF and only then was exposed to the 1967-1968 M715 “series” or “variants” which contained the 230 Tornado engine. The 230 installed in the M715 is quite a bit different and refined from the early 230’s in the Trucks, Wagons, and then early J Series stuff. Released in mid-1962 the early 230’s were plagued with issues that have been documented many times over, from oil leaks off the front plate mounting design, to head casting issues, ring seating issues, they just struggled to catch up on all the issues, regardless of these issues the 230 is a wild engine and super fun to drive. The TSB’s are a plenty on the early rigs, which make these later 230’s in the M715 pretty cool pieces at times.

There was a period of time where the 230 was no longer being installed in Kaiser vehicles post say early 1965’ish, (Willys was gone by now and fully replaced by “Jeep” and the J Series). Some interesting changes on the later M715 variants like a 1bbl carb vs the Truck/Wagon (TW) had a Holley 2bbl 2415. Being military they were 24V vs TW were 12v. Typically have massive DC Generators, large full blown PTO, T98 4 Speeds with a divorced transfer case. TheY had improved engine mounts that came off the block not the front plate, all the lessons learned from the casting issues were applied.

Overall the M715’s can be found in super low mile examples, which is good and bad, its never good for much anything to sit not used, there are a lot of systems to the rigs, with the 24V, PTO’s, this has DRW’s and a dump bed, its really neat. Hope you enjoy this one and if you are in the market and local for a heavy, not fast, but super cool rig with a unique power plant, this would be fun to go check out and put it through its paces.

Andy’s Picks > this was sent over by Andy it’s posted as a 1960, the roof line supports that I feel. The rounded wheel arches on the deliveries are always neat to see. The livery is USPS and it looks like they are had / are having a fun time with the build on this one.

Something different, maybe pair it up with an FJ and DJ and have the full set!

1958 Willys Wagon $5,900 Council Bluffs, IA

Andy’s Picks, some of my notes Listed as 1953, I have this one at 1958 again today, due to the gauges, roof, trim, rear gate, windshield. Could be a later ’57. Now if the title is a ’53, then it’s a ’53 all day.

Information from seller:

This rare wagon has had many many repairs done. Many can be seen in the pictures but include rebuilt transmission and transfer case, new brakes and master cylinder (still won’t stop on a dime), rebuilt original radiator, rebuilt carburator, and many other items. The motor is a 226 Super Hurricane and runs reasonably well. No body work has been done as I concentrated on the mechanical side of things. The body is solid with the usual rust that these old wagons have. It comes with many spare parts. This is actually a mix of two wagons that I had. One was very rusty but had many good parts that I used on this one. This included the front and rear axles, the hood and the rear hatches. I have the rear upper hatch but I had it dipped and didn’t get it primed so it has some surface rust on it. I have new rubber for the back glass. But is in good condition. I rebuilt the t4 transmission and also the transfer case. I rebuilt the emergency brake, and all four brakes and had the drums turned.
