This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (12/28/2017) Steve shared this one. Sell listed this as a 1949, but based on the serial number it was manufactured near the end of the 1948 run.
“Late Willys CJ-2A Jeep, manufactured shortly before switch to CJ-3A. Runs and drives well. Rebuilt engine. 12-volt electrical system. Operating Meyer snow plow with original hydraulic pump and custom-made reinforced mounting rig. Original Willys hood, tailgate, windshield, front seats and rear seat, with original-style vinyl covers by Beachwood Canvas. Repro CJ/M38 body tub has some rust but definitely repairable.”

“Old Willy’s. Axles are good, and the engine will crank, but it doesn’t run and drive. Be Good yard art or use drive train for parts.
Update due to so many questions.
I have the original 134 engine. I have extra clutch, radiators, starter, generator, seat frames and original filters, etc. Some from this Jeep it and Other parts are from a 1948. All the parts go with it. I also have old registration papers through the 70s and 80s on it as well.
It is in rough shape. Very rusty body, for those who want a vehicle to restore, the body is beyond that point so look elsewhere.”

Peter noted that it looks like the driver side front spring is bent near the front shackle.
Ted shared this jeep. It has a few updates, including a spray liner on the interior and underside.
“Offered here is a 1946 Civilian Willys Jeep. This driver comes out of an estate and collection of fine automobiles. The in-house mechanic states that the engine and transmission have been rebuilt and the brakes are in good working order. Newer paint was applied and the vehicle shows well. The floors and undercarriage plus the inside of the fenders have been undercoated. A roll bar has been installed. The windshield glass on the driver’s side has a crack and will need replacement. Some paint bubbling was noticed also on the windshield frame. This is a no-nonsense little cruiser. Perfect for running around town, as a grocery-getter, a vehicle for advertising, parades or simply to show and enjoy. The vehicle is currently on display at the Murphy Automobile Museum in Oxnard, California.”
This has an early windshield. It also has a floor shift, though the pics don’t show if it was once a column shift or not.
“This is a very very early civilian jeep, perhaps the very first few that rolled off after the war as it still has the MB body. Originally came with the rare column shift but later converted to stick on floor. All original drive train. Starts right up but needs restoration. Body is very solid with some bondo. Original Arizona vehicle last licensed in 1970. A great project that can be worth getting into. Serious enthusiasts only please.”

This has a rear bench. That engine looks more like an f-head than an l-head.

(12/22/2017) Has some updates and a Cab Enclosure hardtop.
“1947 Willys Flat fender. Mostly original. Has Buick v6, factory axles manual transmission, new 33×9.50×15 wild county tires on black steel wheels. Has hard top , hard doors, bikini top and extra windshield. Runs and drives well. Mostly restored. Very straight good paint and no rust. $5000 obo. Willing to trade for cj7, Tj, or built one ton axles with passenger side drop or what else you got??? Thanks for looking. Clean title.”

The foundation for this jeep is a 1948 CJ-2A, but there are some CJ-3A parts here as well. Looks like a good price.
“Start 2018 off right by finally getting that vintage Jeep you’ve always wanted. The New Years resolution you can actually keep!
Up for sale is a 1948 Jeep basket case. I had planned on building this project for many years and it’s finally time for me to face the reality – it’s not going to get finished. I purchased this mess way back in 1998 and it’s sat in a warehouse since then. My plan was to do a restoration, so everything I have is original. If you know about 1946 – 1949 CJ’s you will know exactly what you are looking at. I am quite confident I have a 98% complete project here.
I have two tubs. The brown one is a CJ-2a tub which would have come with the ’48 frame. The red tub is a 1949 CJ-3a tub which the only difference is the wheel wells were shortened to allow the seats to be moved back 2” so the driver would have more leg room. I was going to use this tub for some panels to complete the ’48 tub.
